“The highlight of my week is visiting Last Call Baking. The care and love that goes into baking these goods is unmatched. In my fifty plus years on this planet, I have never tasted anything as delightful as the treats that Chanah and their team create for us each week. Every time I think I couldn't get anything that was any better than the last, they create something new and I'm blown away yet again. My personal favorite is the passion fruit bar but the rice rice treats will bring a tear to your eyes. And don't get me started on the croissants!!! They are perfect! Get there early, because they sell out quickly!!!”

Her service was the epitome of southern hospitality and truly elevated the experience.

Cayo Coco is legendary in my book. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a place that etches core memories. If you find yourself in Birmingham, whether alone or with friends, this is a spot you simply cannot miss. “This was our first time and it was absolutely excellent from start to finish! The manager, Brandon, was SO genuinely welcoming and accommodating. Our server, Parker, was flawless and so much fun (request him!). Every dish was perfectly cooked, refined and full of flavor (smoked salmon, fried green tomatoes, fried oysters, rainbow trout, swordfish with andouille, ribeye with truffle fondue). The cocktails and wine all perfect. Will definitely return and want to thank Blueprint for a truly wonderful experience!”

“This is a hidden gem. I'd give more than 5 stars if they were available. We looked at the menu on line and there were atypical offerings that attracted us. The food was excellent. My wife and I shared the beef steak tartare appetizer. It was a different presentation, but each bite was better than the one before. She then had the snapper in banana leaves with a side of sweet potatoes, and I had the duck breast with a papaya salad and sambal. Both portions were ample and we skipped dessert. A sign of a great chef is when food needs no added seasoning. None needed any. They also have an excellent wine selection. My only negative, which I make everywhere, is the noise level.”

We decide to grab a quick breakfast-lunch-brunch-snack-kinda-thing.. Well... I did.... You see, my fiancé is so "high street" and would never... just kidding, he just suffers from selective eating disorder.

Upon walking in the door, we are greeted by a beautiful lady best described as "all loving". (Let's face facts. When a couple, 2 men, say that a lady is beautiful... SHE IS)
Everyone was so friendly.
Everything was so cleaned, organized.

hot & fresh even the fries were HOT & FRESH.
(Fast Food does not usually allow this to happen.)

We did the chit chat loving, got our food, ran like 2 fat boys run... and as we are leaving, we hear "Thanks, Love".

“It always ends being the manager, Precious (and her name fits her to a tee), who waits on us just about every time, bc we don't get off until so late. Ive gotten where I won't eat unless she is there to help cook or oversee the cooking. She is amazing! Most of the time, she is by herself waiting on her 3rd shift to show. But, I love her smiling face. She never let's it get to her and if it is, it doesn't show.
She gets everything done and then some. The store is clean, everyone is courteous and the food is what I remember Krystal actually tasting like from years ago. She cooks with LOVE and it is obvious. It may be just a Krystal burger to you, but anyone who puts that kind of effort into a tiny cheeseburger can take over the world!
Her second shift is loyal to her, as well. We watched one night as one girl was going to take her toddler home and come back to help out. You get that kind of loyalty by treating employees as people and fairly.
Precious, we are the Door Dashers who usually see you after midnight and we just wanted to recognize you in some way. You always put a smile on our faces, you're patient when I have trouble deciding, and our orders are right and packed well. See you soon! Please don't go anywhere! You deserve a very large raise. “This evening, we had the pleasure of dining at Giuseppe's Cafe in Birmingham, Alabama. Despite the restaurant being fully occupied, we opted to dine al fresco and enjoy the surroundings. Our meal consisted of the Feta Cheese bake as an appetizer, followed by Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and Manicotti. Each dish was expertly prepared. Notably, our waitress Ty provided exceptional service, making us feel welcome and treating us with familial warmth. She ensured we had refreshments to take with us and carefully packaged our leftovers. We highly recommend Giuseppe's Cafe to anyone in the area and suggest requesting Ty's attentive service, mentioning Melissa from Pensacola as a referral.”

“My wife recently had an overnight procedure at UAB, so we looked up Cajun restaurants in the area and this was the closest to us. I’ve been to NOLA countless times over the years and I’m here to say, every morsel of food we ate at this place was hands down better than anything I’ve ever had in NOLA. I love spicy food and everything was seasoned to perfection. I honestly can’t say enough great things about this hidden gem. Super friendly staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. We live in North AL and I would definitely drive the hour south just to go eat here again. It was absolutely amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!”

BUT THIS CRISPY FALAFEL PITA GETS ALL THE STARS ?????. So good I had to come back 2 days later to be sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. I subbed the garlic dressing for the spicy harrisa vinaigrette and had 1/2 falafel 1/2 roasted veggies. Perfection!

“Hole in the wall spot to eat sincere southern food. The food was great (pancakes were the highlight). The grits weren’t to my personal taste (I usually have more seasonings) but the were smooth and creamy, which is cool because you can fix it up from there how you like it.

The wait time for the food wasn't long at all; they got our food out within minutes.”

After ordering my kiddo’s chicken fingers, I asked for the potato only to be told they had run out of them for the night. 😞 when I pulled up to pick up our food,  the chef (Matt) had found out that I had really wanted a potato and so he gave me one for free. That makes potato might’ve been part of his employee meal he was taking home. I don’t know but that gentleman made my night.  by the way, the potato is very good, but the service was even better!”

“I stumbled across this place while waiting for my order at another establishment. i went in to check out the menu and i was able to sample the beef/lamb and the chicken!! The samples were off the chain!! i ended up ordering the Beef/Lamb Shwarma Combo with the Watermelon Smoothie. it doesnt make sense how good this food!! “I love the deviled eggs and the muffins! Of course the BBQ is delicious but the Pies are a must try! The staff is very prompt and courteous. I use curbside to pick up dinner and it’s convenient especially with all the traffic on 280.”

“Gotta say a big thank you to Jim ‘n Nick’s BBQ in Athens, GA. I drove through there, hoping to get the awesome sounding baked potato that is described on their menu. After ordering my kiddo’s chicken fingers, I asked for the potato only to be told they had run out of them for the night. 😞 when I pulled up to pick up our food,  the chef (Matt) had found out that I had really wanted a potato and so he gave me one for free. That makes potato might’ve been part of his employee meal he was taking home. I don’t know but that gentleman made my night.  by the way, the potato is very good, but the service was even better!”

“Came on a Saturday with my boyfriend and the place was dead, which is shocking because this place is AMAZING!! Everything from the service to the food was A1. We started with the lemon pepper wet wings, which were really good but the sauce was a little too thick for my liking. For drinks, I ordered the Seascape and my boyfriend ordered the Magnolia’s Point, both of which were delecious. For our entrees, he ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the fried oyster platter which came with 2 sides, so I got a loaded baked potato and the side salad which I made some tweaks to. Neither one of us had any complaints about our food! If you’re looking for a lowkey spot for lunch/dinner with a great atmosphere, great service, and great food/drinks, this is definitely the place! Shoutout to our amazing waitress Irina for everything!!”

“Good place to get Tacos ordered 6 tacos they were way bigger than I thought only ate 3 saved the rest. Man tripas had good flavor both there salsas on point the red one brings the heat cooled it down with a sangria ok let’s go, good selection of meats. They give good amount of salsa, lime and to top it off the cucumber slices for that fresh crunch. Overall good Taco spot!

“We had a pretty good experience at Surf House.

We had the buffalo wings as an appetizer. They were good, but not great. I had the 'spicy' burger, and am still not sure what made it spicier than the other burger on the menu. It was a good burger, but not great. Another person in our party got the turkey burger, and they proclaimed it terrific. Finally, the last person got the regular burger, which, like me, they said was good but not great.

Pretty much everything, from the food to the service to the atmosphere was a solid 7-8 out of 10. We will undoubtedly go back to Surf Hound, but likely won't be rushing back...it is just far enough away. With that said, it should be a hit in the nearby community, and will likely make a dent in CharBar's business.”
