“The manager, Art , noticed that I seemed to be chilly and was hugging myself . I was seated under an air-conditioning vent and he came over and told me he had adjusted the thermostat and offered me a shawl which turned out to be soft, black and lovely and made all the difference so that my meal was quite enjoyable. I've never had such personal attention and I loved it!“

“We came for our 37th wedding anniversary. It was our 1st time eating here. Our server was Bishop. Bishop was amazing....staring woth the glass of celebratory champaign, picking a perfect wine pairing, explaining the dishes, great sense of humor....he helped make our experience fun and memorable. The food....OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection! From the bread, Amuse Bouche, appetizer (great fried green tomatoes, by the way!!!) Intermezzo, main course (ribeye and braised rabbit), and dessert with coffee....every step was amazing! A truly wonderful sensual experience from all the aromas, flavors, and ambiance. “My first time at The Club! I was there for a scholarship dinner and thoroughly impressed. I asked about joining and was told that you had to be recommended. This is definitely a shortcoming for the club as I do not know many people in Alabama. This rule needs to be changed.“

“I had such a beautiful birthday dining experience at Brock’s, and I absolutely had to leave a review. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, everything felt warm, elevated, and intentional.

The lamb chops were cooked to perfection — medium, exactly the way I requested them — tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. The au gratin potatoes (white & sweet)were rich and comforting and were absolutely divine. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor.

I also enjoyed the roasted red pepper soup and ended the evening with the berry trifle dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to a wonderful meal. You can tell care goes into both the presentation and the quality of the food.

What made the evening even more special was the exceptional service from Kat. She was attentive, kind, professional, and helped make my birthday dinner feel genuinely celebrated. I truly appreciated the signed birthday card and the extra touches that made the experience feel personal instead of rushed or routine.

In a time when great customer service can sometimes feel rare, Brock’s delivered both outstanding food and hospitality. I left feeling full, celebrated, and grateful for such a memorable evening.

“Met for a Birthday Dinner for my wife and daughter, yes they have the same Birthday. No wait for a booth in the Tavern. We took it, table was being cleaned off. I asked if we could have that booth when she finished, she said yes of course. We ordered steak, French onion soup, crab dip, burgers, chicken sandwich. Everything was perfect, what I was not prepared for was Paige T, she was spot on, anticipating our every need. Absolutely pleasant to speak to and watch her work the tables around us. She is Good Really Good!!!!! She made our night and hour and half drive home worth the trip. Great Job Paige!!!! Atta Girl for you. We will definitely be back.“

“On Saturday, April 5, 2025, I had my retirement dinner at Culinary Dropout. There were twenty people in my party. Our server Natalie was a "little dynamo". Even the restaurant was crowded due prom season, she got all drink orders promptly. The starters orders arrived soon after. Then the entrees. She was there for drink refills and other requests. She handled the situation with grace, kindness and professionalism. Her and the other wait staff were truly exceptional. The bartenders got drink orders promptly and made to protection. They made my 25 year retirement celebration truly awesome! I will definitely book any future events with this amazing restaurant. Kudos!!!!“

“OMGOSH!!!! I ate at Steel City last night (12/21/22) as I am staying on property at the HI. We had a party of six. EVERY ORDER WAS SUPERB!! I had the grilled pork chops, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes! Delicious!!! The pork chops - yes two came on my order - were grilled to perfection! They were great cuts and TENDER! The mac and cheese and the potatoes were both homemade and delightfully seasoned! I almost asked the waiter if the cook was married! I want to carry him home with me!? Two adults in our party had Philly steak and cheese; two children had flatbread pizza - one cheese and one pepperoni - and our 15 year old had a burger with mushrooms EACH PERSON RAVED OVER THEIR MEAL. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT AND NICE PORTIONS!!! We are good cooks and we know good food!!!! Do not think twice - eat at Steel City!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!! PS We are eating there again today before our flight to Florida?“

“When I go to Topgolf, I typically have a great time but last night I was disgusted me and two friends went there to eat and have a good time we went into the restaurant. We waited an hour before anyone even spoke to us then when we stopped a few of the workers one guy with dreads that was working the bar with a red shirt on, he was rude. When I asked did he work there and when I asked him to get us a server he ignored me after several attempts to get an employee to come, Services us savanna a server came to the table after 45 minutes of trying her best to ignore us and several other customers and asked the drink orders but at this point we’re ordering food as well long story short we spent we came in at 9 didn’t leave the restaurant part until 1130 and missed our spot at the golf course. When we asked for the check that took 45 minutes even though it was almost empty in the place. It seem like no manager cared or just wasn’t present the place was being ran by kids and it was horrible.“
