“One of the very best restaurants in the Southeast. From the tomato pie to the incredible steaks - everything is excellent. Don’t tell your grandmother, but their seasonal vegetables are better than hers. And their angel biscuits will change the way you think about life. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out.“
“We had a great experience with our impromptu work dinner with our party of 15. Our server Thomas P. was very accommodating and worked to help our large group have a wonderful time. The flavors of the food were bold and paired well with the amazing drink menu. We loved the daiquiris and the Will You Be My Hurricane drinks were our favorites. But please don’t miss the Guri Guri - so yummy! Located right in the heart of downtown in a walkable area from neighboring hotels. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Oak House is a great restaurant. I had the sea bass at it was fantastic. Beautiful presentation and d delicious. We shared the Nawlins shrimp again beautiful presentation and oh my soooo good. Order extra bread to dip the sauce because It is so good. The waiter was very attractive and friendly. He also knew everything on the menu and could describe them to make you hungry.“
“Might not be the best place to go if you are expecting a full blown dining experience. That being said, it is a distillery and their spirits are fantastic! And their appetizers are good to go with it. Don‘t forget to grab a bottle of your favorite spirit from their gift shop - all made in Birmingham!“
“I tried the A&D’s Wings and Things in Elysian Gardens. The lady working dropped wings fresh for us and she delivered the food across the courtyard to the bar. I had a 4 piece whole wing, half lemon pepper and half honey sriracha with a side of fried okra. The wings were huge and juicy, the sauce tasted delicious. The okra was flavorful and fresh.I also tried drinks at the bar, I had the cinnamon apple pie special and my partner had the happy hour margarita. Both were delicious!“
“The newly renovated Workplay is so well done. The Harmonic is what they call the bar now, and the staff is so kind. Every corner of this place is being updated. They had opening night last night, and the show was so good. The new sound setup they've built and stage updates make such a massive difference. They even have an active salon called HairPlay. 5 stars for sure.“
“Love this place! Great vibe and better cocktails. Friendly bartenders, great low key lighting and filled with little pockets of privacy throughout. Always recommend Pilcrow as a Birmingham gem not to be missed to my out of town real estate and short term rental clients.“
“First visit here, everyone very friendly and welcoming, good grilled burgers, hot dogs, and all the extras!!! Nice Building, very clean, and had a Great band " The Real Horizon Band" with a wide variety of music, from country, to Heart, and some Great old Rock&Roll... The Female Singer was Awsome, and they had some great harmony too!!!“
“Our waitress is super friendly and made us feel at comfort when it was our 1st time in Alabama and at Mudtown.I hardly eat fried pickles but Mudtown's fried pickles is beyond DELICIOUS!!! Fresh, crunchy and seasoned just right--LOVE IT!! The Shrimp and grits is really good. I went all out and got warm chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream drizzle with chocolate fudge syrup-- spectacular!! Definitely wouldn't mind coming back again!“
“We went here on a whim after going to a friend’s wedding shower at Pepper place and we were so glad that we decided to stay out! This bar is super cute and has a great vibe. The drink menu routinely rotates to be themed around a different part of the world. When we went, the theme was “Arabian Nights” and the drinks we had were amazing. We were tempted to get something to eat from their food truck, but after just having eaten at the shower we decided against it. We WILL be back to try drinks from the next menu and to try their food! Don’t skip out on this trendy and gay-friendly new bar!“
“Special thanks to The Margaret for welcoming The Whiskey Women of Alabama last night for our March Monthly Meet Up. We really enjoyed the beautiful, but laid back atmosphere. The staff were so friendly, and we were honored to spend some time with one of the co-owners, Theresa Holloway Cottrell. We will definitely visit again“
“This by far is my favorite place to eat and drink. If your looking for an ice cold beer, glass of wine or a cocktail handed to you by the best bartenders - this is your place! Best sandwiches and soup. Incredible bar to hang out and chill.“
“We were in town for Garth Brooks concert and everywhere Uptown was so busy. We walked back to Chasers and we are so glad we did! I had so much fun there, I wanted to skip the concert! Staff was amazing and friendly! Bartenders were awesome too and it got extremely busy in there! I hope everyone else visiting tipped them well! We didn’t eat because we waited too long but others around us had food and it looked amazing. I will definitely go back next time I’m in BHAM.“
“604 is like going to that friend or cousin’s house that loves to entertain. The atmosphere and people were down to earth and had a real “professional by day” vibe. The bar had a wide variety to choose from including an amazing signature drink. There was great music playing throughout. Inside were tables and TVs where you could chill and watch a game. There was an upstairs with a dance floor. They also have a nice patio with plenty of comfortable seating and some games if you’re into that. In addition, the bathrooms were nice and clean. All in all, “that MF was jumpin!” They taught me that lol. 10/10 would recommend!“
“All around experience was phenomenal! The name of the club was perfect, theme song for the night was "Issa Vibe". Reserved one of the birthday sections, which was beautiful. The whole club is nicely decorated, even the outdoor stage and seating area continued the nice laid back ambiance. The staff was friendly and accomadating, security was attentive and welcoming, Bando the DJ kept the vibe going reading the room well. Last but not least when the food truck opened up, we started dancing all over again when he brought the plates to wings and fries were on point. The review is a little long, but I wanted to express how much fun I had at such an awesome venue, we will definitely be back. The people, the venue, the entire staff are all a whole vibe!! Thank you, thank you and thank you, my birthday celebration was amazing!“
“So so neat and unique! Definitely a quirky place but everyone's extremely friendly and helpful. I feel like they really love their job. The womb room is a must see if it's available. Just ask your server or bartender to see it. Drinks were pricey and small. Will return!“
“Rojo is a staple in the area and I can’t imagine Birmingham without it! Tucked in beautiful Highland Park this gem is a must stop for the local atmosphere and diverse eats. Many gluten free/vegan options, dine in or to go… stuck at home? DoorDash it!!! You have to try the David’s Quesadilla, it’s a personal favorite. Stop in for open mic night for a good time or visit during any other special nights/events. Thank you for everything Rojo!❤️Dietary restrictions: Dairy free, Gluten Free, Vegan options“
“Joined my work children there. They wanted me to experience their favorite bar. I can see why they love it. Friendly staff and the patrons were having a great time. The whole environment made for a great night out with my kiddos. Drinks were great and the atmosphere can’t be beat!“
“Tbh this is a hidden gem in Avondale. Mike and his crew he works with are a group of aces... just made it home from a great night and I hope he and the owner of this place know that I just made this place a top spot to be... 5 stars from beginning to end. Excellent service.“
“Absolutely love this place!!! Very low key, but also lively. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to just chill and play a little pool and have some great priced drinks!Parking: Street parking shared with several other local businesses. Businesses include another bar, a Mexican and an Italian restaurant. Both are awesome!!“
“Guys yesterday I got the chance to try The Essential. Not going to lie I only came here because they made the list of 25 best burgers in Alabama so of course I hade to try it. However we had to get some other items to try. To start off the place was very nice and welcoming not a huge place either but not too small. A very nice bar, great place for friends and small family gatherings or even a nice date night. 8/10 I also really loved the open kitchen they had you could see the chefs working hard and getting the dishes out. Our waitress (forgot her name) was probably hands down one of the best waitresses I have ever had and even got some up sales out of me. Also got to meet who I think was either the manager or the owner not sure but he was very nice too. 10/10 on customer service. APPETIZER: BAKED MOZZARELLA (Lioni cheese, calabrian sauce, fontina). This was so freaking good its hard to explain but I'm going to do my best. It's baked mozzarella but eating it you'd definitely think it was fried but it was not. The sauce was so good its not marinara sauce kind of is but with a slight spicy kick. I absolutely devoured this thing. Probably my favorite dish of the whole night. 10/10 We also recieved free focaccia bread which is one of my favorite breads and it was so good. I was not a big fan of the ricotta cheese blend though it's just me I'm not a fan of ricotta cheese lol. But the bread itself was top notch. So fluffy and yet properly toasted and buttery. 8.5/10 Now for what I and all of you are waiting for: CHEESEBURGER (Bear Creek beef, big mac style, fries) This burger was so fresh and delicious don't let the picture fool you it was not very big but still very delicious. The Big Mac style sauce was good. The ingredients you could easily tell were very fresh but I feel like seasoning wasn't executed well and lacked salt and pepper. Fries were cut fresh very good and well seasoned. Do I think it deserves to be on the top 25 list? Yes but what they are charging for it I think it's a bit much for what you actually recieve. 8.9/10 Second entrée was: HALF CHICKEN PIRI PIRI (guajillo marinade, peanut-lime gremolata, fries) This was some flavorful juicy chicken Piri Piri definitely done right however correct me if I'm wrong but half chicken means half a chicken right because we only recieved a butterflied chicken breast. Maybe I'm missing something here and someone can help me understand. 9/10 Last but not least dessert: CARROT CAKE (swiss meringue buttercream, whipped cheesecake) The dessert menu wasn't very extravagant and very limited but I found out they own their own bakery so the cakes were made in house so we got the carrot it. It was very good and very moist however it had coconut all over it and I flat out don't like coconut it's a texture thing not a flavor thing. For the price you pay for it I definitely expected a bigger slice then what we recieved. But with that being said 8.5/10 Would I come back here? Yes! Do I recommend this place? Yes! However I think for what you're paying for some for the items I think the portions should be adjusted accordingly. Staff was spectacular food was great and I really enjoyed my time here.“
“I was looking for food at night, and this place caught my eye. The environment was so chill, and everything was more than reasonably priced. I also appreciate ya'll playing "The Isley Brothers - Between The Sheets" for me. Thanks again for the hospitality.“
“If you have not been, then you must try!!! It is EXACTLY what we wanted. If you want a place that's friendly, like they've known you your whole life, not only the business but the patrons! A place that is reasonably priced with good food, happy atmosphere! Karaoke and more! Kitchen open late! Fast service! Definitely our place!!!“
“Well to be honest, I haven't technically visit the new Parkside. I did in fact visited the old Parkside one time over 10 yrs ago. Let's just say it wasn't a pleasant visit. However, I am a different person now and by looking at the new version through pics, I wouldn't mind visiting there again!“
“I highly recommend The Prive hands down. It has a variety of entertainment options. They have great drinks, good food and amazing staff. Stop by the Prive to see what they have to offer.Parking: The parking lot has plenty of space and it’s inside a fenced lot.“
“Mayawell has such a great atmosphere with some of the best service. Places being queer friendly and welcoming are two things I look for most often, and this place had both. I was able to enjoy myself and feel safe while doing so. Perfect way to end my “
“My 1st time visiting here, went with cousins, we all had a great time. It’s very beautiful inside & out back. Totally exceeded my expectations especially in decor. Bartenders were nice but the drinks are very small. I don’t like having to pay average prices for a tiny cup. The music & sound system was excellent! Security had great presence throughout. The later it gets, the younger the crowd gets. I love the pool & beautiful led lights thru out. Spacious.“
“I went here last night for a work event and it’s probably the 4-5th time I’ve been. It’s a hit every time! The drinks are always delicious and well-balanced. The food is a level-up from bar food too. You have to try the sweet potato waffle fries and the jalapeño gochujang wings!!Also, atmosphere is too notch. The bartenders are always so personable and pleasant to talk to. We also love to support any women-owned business and it’s also an LGBTQ+ supportive business. Lumbar is a gem!!“
“The chicken salad and several other meals were tasty! Yikes...we received menus 15 minutes after being seated. We had to get our own silverware and 1-2 tables were dirty. Yikes. We were really hungry after hours of basketball so...we stayed. The pita chips made it worth it!!“
“I had an amazing experience at Alibi Bar & Tapas! The food was delicious, the ambiance and decor were perfect for a cozy night out, and the hookah added a fun touch. Prices were reasonable, and the employees were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!“
“Took a shot on this bar and happy we did. Awesome service and the atmosphere is chill, fun and relaxing. We decided to order some food from the restaurant a couple doors down while we enjoyed our delicious cocktails! Our lovely bartender was so awesome and she even gave us glass plates and some silverware to use so we didn't have to eat out of the styrofoam containers!! We love bars that we can bring outside food in to while we get our drink on and this bar is in a perfect location to take advantage of the 3 restaurants within walking distance!! This bar is so welcoming and the bartender had a lot to do with that so a huge "Thank You" to Edwina!! We will be back!“
“We came here for a birthday dinner, the food was great! We ate early around 4:30 and got seated right away with no reservations! I personally got the Filet with Brussels sprouts - that was one of the best steaks I have had in a minute! The rest of us got salmon and a variety of sides! Everything was delicious! For dessert we got the cookie skillet! Definitely worth trying! The restaurant was super clean, the staff was attentive, and food was prepared great (looks and taste)! It’s alittle more on the expensive side, but you’re paying for and getting quality! I definitely recommend it!“
“Great Chicken and Chinese food! It's not fast food, so it takes a little longer than your McDonalds, but it's worth the wait. Inside is mediocre, recommend takeout. Overall, great place to grab a bite to eat and go, as I come here at least twice a week!“
“Like a small night club that serves good food to order for lunch - Fish sandwiches etc.Dine in, soul music, Dj at night. Haven't had a Night experience. Some might call it a nice hole in the wall.My Buddy Bam took me there for Lunch. Couldn't believe how big one piece of fish was.Tasted good.I call it a cool chill spot.“
“This is my absolute favorite place in Edgewood for a casual drink or bite to eat. The food is consistently delicious (get the dry rub wings 'Tuan style or the spicy ranch wings) and their French 75 is the best in town. Be sure to check out Local 39 if you haven't!“
“Great venue for any type of event. Was present for a good friend's birthday celebration. She hosted a Sip & Stroke brunch. The set up was tables with about twenty guest per table. There was a separate area set up for food with the bar open for drinks and mimosas.“
“This is an "if you know, you know" place. It's in an alleyway down two sets of stairs that smell like they use a scrub and an antibiotic. The bar is spacious and has a neat vibe, graffiti walls, vending machine, pool tables, interesting decor... Definitely, worth a visit. Jackson was our bartender. Awesome guy!“
“I decided to go here on Sunday after eating dinner. This spot is sort of hidden as I've driven by it a numerous amount of times and never saw it! Upon walking in it's certainly a small spot with a super cute theme! The servers were pretty nice too and the drinks were pretty good. The menu is easy to follow and the music was pretty good too! Cute spot for sure!“
“Great dark alley on the side, with convenient free parking!A great spot if you need to see someone on the lowThere's a back door from the patio right in front of the 2 sides spots hidden in the alleyOnly the realest know about them spots“
“This place is a gem, it's not the cheapest restaurant in town but is one of the best value for money . They take pride in serving local organic food and will happily tweak dishes to suit your taste, allergies etc. We started with the quiche and a "bit of salad" which included mango, pomegranate, beetroot, peppers, avacado to name but a few. The result was amazing. My main course was strips of tuna served on asparagus with green beans and potatoes topped with a poached egg. I have stopped eating tuna in UK restaurants after some bad meals but this reminded me how good it can be. Being greedy we finished off with the famous chocolate brownie. Looking forward to the next meal there!“
“It's Lou's Pub what more could you ask for! Has the dive bar local feel. Along with being local, has regulars and surprises. Great place to grab a drink or a beer and buy some liquor too! Btw it also is a package store as well! A lot of great places to eat at around the place too! After your done eating drop back by Lou's it could be a totally different experience!“
“If you like to get out and grab a drink from time to time this is a great place to visit! The atmosphere is unmatched compared to a few other places I've visited. It's for older crowds though it's rarely crowded; the drinks are always good and they cater to football fans.“
“Well I Have Rated Bravo Good Job Before I See That Was for the Online Guideline Tour's But Alright for Facebook I Will Recap it Again I Rate The Business 5 Star A+Rating Even Trying to Get Friends to Get Together and Come See too it's Like it Says Bravo“
“I stayed here this pass weekend. The room was clean the staff was cool too. The location is within 5 mins of BHM airport and about 10 mins from downtown. The hotel was being remodeled while I was there, but I didn't experience any loud noises. The breakfast is $9.50 person, so I'd would just go somewhere else. Parking is free. The only problem I had was the hot water went out it took them about 45mins to get it fixed. They let us checkout late for the inconvenience. I would stay here again.“
“I was trying to show my buddy's kid a good time but they wouldn't let us come in. We went to the 604 bar, they lit kids in there, no matter how young they are. I taught little Brandon how to do some tricks that got me. Lots of free drinks.“
“Sunday night 1800 it was cool. bartenders was cute it was a bday outside inside was 1 vibe outside was a different 1. Dunks was out everybody was flexin Food trucks on deck. Was some SUPER BAD tings that came thru. Married tho. But Oh Lord!“
“Had dinner with family and loved the experience so much. I started with a cocktail that was delicious, followed by an appetizer of oysters. The oysters were so tasty and so far Donald, our waiter, was very attentive and knowledgeable. I decided to try the noodle bowl and was not disappointed. The seafood in the bowl was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The broth was so yummy it could have stood on its own. I love the seating choices, (chef's counter, bar, table) the decor, the location, and the service. I love this place!“
“Delicious food and wonderful experience. We didn’t have a reservation and waited about 20 minutes to sit at the bar on a Wednesday night at 6pm. For drinks we got the americano and pecan old fashioned. A lot of ice in the drinks but they were delish! For apps we got the salmon tartine and the oefs mayonnaise (basically a soft boiled deviled egg). Cannot recommend the salmon tartine enough! Such fresh salmon and my fiancé was raving about it all night. For dinner we got the duck confit and steak frites! I have to say that is one of the best steaks I’ve had in my life, if I came back I’d get that over and over again. The duck was also delicious, crispy skin and perfectly seasoned vegetables. Ended with the coconut cake and espresso. Delightful meal, we will definitely be back! Thank you Chez Fonfon!“
