“bartenders are great. food is great. they have karaoke on Wednesdays and maybe other nights as well I'm not sure. they stay open till 2:00 a.m. which is great if you want to go somewhere after work. it's very laid back environment. they have a couple of pool tables and darts and multiple restrooms which is great for a bar instead of a line.“

“Ok, so I’ve been to SoHo Standard for brunch many, many times and it is my absolute FAVORITE dining experience in Birmingham. We stopped in yesterday afternoon for some cocktails and they were having a happy hour. It was absolutely incredible! We enjoyed the feta dip and the bacon wrapped dates. Delicious and you cannot beat the price!!! I was wishing that we didn’t have a dinner reservation for later in the evening so that we could just eat there! The drinks were also fantastic. I had an espresso martini and a Moscow mule. One of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. Stephanie was our server and she was amazing! Super sweet and attentive. I cannot want to go back and try more off their happy hour and dinner menus!!!“

“Small place, but very nice and they’ve made awesome use of additional outdoor seating. The menu is small, but extremely well thought out and delicious! We had the smash burger and the French dip. Regular fries and the truffle fries, cheese sticks, and a delicious salad. It was 10/10!“

“I walked from the hotel and dare I say that the walk was a little sketchy. If I had to guess, I’d say that I wasn’t in the most favorable area of Birmingham, but nevertheless I blended in because I was in a familiar environment. Initially, I thought that the food truck outside was the bar, but I was able to go inside the bar and watch the game until my food was ready. I ordered a double shot of Jameson and the price was a bit more than I was accustomed to paying, but needless to say I didn’t scoff at the price. I like how both of the business were working together and from what I was able to see from the short amount of time that I was there is that it’s a popular corner of Birmingham. I would recommend it.“

“Stopped by The Electric in Avondale and was honestly impressed. Grabbed a pub sub and the white chicken chili and both were fantastic. The sub was fresh, filling, and packed with flavor, and the white chicken chili was rich, comforting, and perfect on a cooler day. Great spot with a solid menu and a relaxed Birmingham vibe. “First of all….it’s in the CUT! And they are ONLY OPEN ON SUNDAY NIGHTS. The glow from warm neon sign welcomes you on arrival near the front door. Parking was easy. On the street or the big lot.

As a first timer you just have to go in and find a spot. $5 cover charge so bring some cash. They also have security. There are lots of tables and chairs and of course a few seats at the bar. If a table or chair is open feel free to snag it. The service at the bar was quick. They accept cards. Bartenders were very nice.

If you want food head for the back corner and go to the window. Two guys will hook you up. A menu of chicken wings, fried fish, and pork chops and fried will satisfy you. The food came out HOT and it’s packaged to go.

“So this opened in the former Beer Hog location that many of us loved! It is a better version in my opinion. Do they offer beer flights? No ,but they will guide you to a beer you will like with great service and attention. It's decorated well, quiet early, vibrant late and the food menu is great. Try the tamales!“
