OMGOSH!!!! I ate at Steel City last night (12/21/22) as I am staying on property at the HI. We had a party of six. EVERY ORDER WAS SUPERB!! I had the grilled pork chops, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes! Delicious!!! The pork chops - yes two came on my order - were grilled to perfection! They were great cuts and TENDER! The mac and cheese and the potatoes were both homemade and delightfully seasoned! I almost asked the waiter if the cook was married! I want to carry him home...read full review
Amazing place , food was amazing, and service is second to none. Would go here to even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel.

Steel City Bar & Grill offers great food at reasonable prices, with exceptional staff. Fajita dinners are a highlight, while the Monday special Crab Mac and Cheese received mixed reviews. Service, particularly from Tykesha at the bar, is commendable. The restaurant is located in the IHG Hotel and has become a popular local gathering spot, often visited by the Birmingham Police. The staff is often understaffed, but two hardworking women, JoJo and Jennifer, do their best as they handle multiple roles including bartender, server, and cook. The food is consistently excellent, with dishes like the basket of 10 wings, Quesadilla, and a Ribeye with mashed potatoes receiving praise for their taste and proper cooking. Despite being a hotel restaurant, the quality of the food and service impress many visitors, and the friendly staff makes the experience even better. It’s a simple but pleasant place that offers good food and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a recommended stop for those in the area.
