“This is the place to come if you want down home cooking atits finest. Whenever I am nearby at lunch time I always choose Paw Paw Catch. The food is cooked to perfection and there's plenty of variety. This cafeteria style restaurant has meats and vegetables as well as delicious desserts. The staff will make you feel right at home and the price will absolutely leave with a smile on your face. Great food, even better prices and they are open for lunch and dinner. They haven't been around as long as they have without being the best choice.“

“I was genuinely excited to try this restaurant after passing by it so many times while traveling through Downtown Homewood. Unfortunately, my experience was a bit of a letdown. That said, it wasn’t terrible by any means, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. A friend and I dined here together as most of my readers know, I often bring someone along for reviews to offer more than just my own perspective. Appetizer: We started with the Tallulah Wings, opting for the Sweet Heat Dry Rub with Alabama White BBQ sauce. The first surprise was that the wings arrived already coated in the sauce. In my opinion, when a sauce is meant as a dip, it’s best served on the side, not as a coating. Unfortunately, the wings themselves were quite underseasoned it reminded me of drinking a LaCroix, with just a faint whisper of the sweet heat flavor. That said, the little flavor I could taste had a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of Golden Flake potato chips and those are undeniably delicious. I just wish the wings had packed more of a punch. Entrée: Next, we tried the Social Stack, essentially their version of a McDonald's Big Mac. I have to say, it was significantly better than a Big Mac. The sauce was flavorful, the patties were fresh and well-seasoned, and everything came together beautifully. It’s a rich burger, but the crispy, seasoned fries helped balance that richness. The freshness and flavor made this burger a standout I’d absolutely order it again. If it weren’t for the disappointing wings, this meal would have earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars. As it stands, I’m giving it 3 out of 5. However, I do plan to return and explore more of their menu. I believe there’s potential here, and I’m hopeful my next visit will be a more satisfying experience.“

“I had the scallops and my husband the pork chop but portions were not large and the chop only came with 1 side (the scallops came with 2). The scallops were good and the pork chop juicy and tender. The spinach and potatoes were a little salty for us. Was surprised that a restaurant of this caliber did not serve any bread or rolls with dinner. Would have to say we prefer Amore or Perry's for dinner but Season's 52 would be a good lunch spot.“

“We came for our 37th wedding anniversary. It was our 1st time eating here. Our server was Bishop. Bishop was amazing....staring woth the glass of celebratory champaign, picking a perfect wine pairing, explaining the dishes, great sense of humor....he helped make our experience fun and memorable. The food....OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection! From the bread, Amuse Bouche, appetizer (great fried green tomatoes, by the way!!!) Intermezzo, main course (ribeye and braised rabbit), and dessert with coffee....every step was amazing! A truly wonderful sensual experience from all the aromas, flavors, and ambiance. “We weren’t quite sure what to expect, especially since there isn’t an updated menu available online—but that only made the experience more exciting. We were pleasantly surprised to discover Chef Mark Addison, just 25 years old and incredibly talented.

We had the opportunity to sit at the chef’s table, where each dish was presented with thoughtful detail and genuine enthusiasm by Chef Mark. Drawing from his Italian and Irish heritage, he brings a unique perspective to his cooking. He even spent a month studying cuisine in northern Italy, where his grandmother is from—a connection that clearly influences his work.

As for the food: the beet and goat cheese salad with kumquats was fresh and beautifully balanced. The prawns and mussels were an absolute 10. The trout was fantastic—perfectly cooked with a crisp skin and a delicious, well-executed sauce. The lamb chops were, without question, the best I’ve ever had—sourced from Colorado, incredibly tender, and paired with a standout mint-pomegranate sauce.

It was also a pleasure to watch the young kitchen team in action. Their passion was evident—you could truly tell they love what they do.

“So I placed my order after a recommendation from a friend. I was initially pissed off because I was charged $3.99 + service fees for delivery through door dash which should have been zero for a first time order. Then the resturant charged me $7.00 for a order change so that my brother could be happy. I say all this to say they did a outstanding job, the only thing that could make this sweeter is to give my brother another compli army meal free of charge anything off the menu with of course revisions to fit his tastes.“

“On Saturday, April 5, 2025, I had my retirement dinner at Culinary Dropout. There were twenty people in my party. Our server Natalie was a "little dynamo". Even the restaurant was crowded due prom season, she got all drink orders promptly. The starters orders arrived soon after. Then the entrees. She was there for drink refills and other requests. She handled the situation with grace, kindness and professionalism. Her and the other wait staff were truly exceptional. The bartenders got drink orders promptly and made to protection. They made my 25 year retirement celebration truly awesome! I will definitely book any future events with this amazing restaurant. Kudos!!!!“

“OMGOSH!!!! I ate at Steel City last night (12/21/22) as I am staying on property at the HI. We had a party of six. EVERY ORDER WAS SUPERB!! I had the grilled pork chops, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes! Delicious!!! The pork chops - yes two came on my order - were grilled to perfection! They were great cuts and TENDER! The mac and cheese and the potatoes were both homemade and delightfully seasoned! I almost asked the waiter if the cook was married! I want to carry him home with me!? Two adults in our party had Philly steak and cheese; two children had flatbread pizza - one cheese and one pepperoni - and our 15 year old had a burger with mushrooms EACH PERSON RAVED OVER THEIR MEAL. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT AND NICE PORTIONS!!! We are good cooks and we know good food!!!! Do not think twice - eat at Steel City!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!! PS We are eating there again today before our flight to Florida?“

“When I go to Topgolf, I typically have a great time but last night I was disgusted me and two friends went there to eat and have a good time we went into the restaurant. We waited an hour before anyone even spoke to us then when we stopped a few of the workers one guy with dreads that was working the bar with a red shirt on, he was rude. When I asked did he work there and when I asked him to get us a server he ignored me after several attempts to get an employee to come, Services us savanna a server came to the table after 45 minutes of trying her best to ignore us and several other customers and asked the drink orders but at this point we’re ordering food as well long story short we spent we came in at 9 didn’t leave the restaurant part until 1130 and missed our spot at the golf course. When we asked for the check that took 45 minutes even though it was almost empty in the place. It seem like no manager cared or just wasn’t present the place was being ran by kids and it was horrible.“
