“This was our first time at J Wings….but it will NOT be our last! The next time we come through Birmingham, we will definitely stop by!We had lemon pepper wings, Philly cheesesteak, fried green tomatoes, cheese fries, and the pork chop plate. We ordered food from here for our end of year football party. due to weather (cold and rainy) we changed our party location last minute from Heardmont Playground to Chick Fil A. Isaac accommodated us quickly, reserving tables for us, and making everything easy and fun for parents and kids. Hotspot on 1st Ave North has quickly become one of my go-to places for a satisfying meal. The staff are so friendly—they make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in.
The menu is full of tempting choices, but I have to say, the wings are a game-changer, especially the Hot Lemon Pepper. They’re crispy, bursting with flavor, and seriously addictive. The Fried Rice is another favorite of mine, and the Philly Cheesesteak? It’s packed with tender meat and gooey cheese, making it a meal that hits the spot every time.
If you’re into seafood, you’ll love their Whiting fish and shrimp combos. Everything arrives fresh, hot, and full of flavor, perfect for enjoying a cozy night in.

“I met my husband for lunch and the service was great. They were very busy, however, it took less than 15 minutes for us to place and receive our order. “Brought my mom for lunch. I ordered The Chick with Fancy Nancy and mac-n-cheese. I like the apples, nuts, and grapes in Fancy Nancy. I did not enjoy the mac-n-cheese. It wasn’t very flavorful and seemed over cooked to me. It seemed like a weird color. That’s what made me think it was overcooked. I wish I had gotten the spinach salad instead of the mac-n-cheese. The spinach salad was great last time. I just thought I would try something different. My mom said her was ok.“

“This is my favorite fried chicken place so I don't understand why it doesn't do well on the north east coast, which is where I live. As a result, every time I go to a place where there's Church's fried chicken, I make an effort to go as long as it's not too much out of the way.
The chicken is always fragrant and juicy. If you like spicy, it tastes even better with their pickled jalapenos.“

“I'm very glad that they reopened this location. This was my second time going since they did. I really enjoyed the chicken the first time it was fresh and hot. The second time it tasted as if the grease had been scorched a little. They have gone way up on their prices too.“

“A very good location to enjoy their Nashville hot chicken. Plenty of parking and the atmosphere was pleasant during our visit.
Ordered Damn Hot 1/2 Chicken, and it did not disappoint. We prefer this location versus any location in Nashville, TN.“
