“Wow, wow, wow. When I asked the waiter, how long the restaurant had been there, I was almost mad at myself when he told me it has been in Birmingham eight years. Why didn’t I find this place sooner? I went with my sister and my brother-in-law for dinner, we felt like we were eating in the French quarter. It’s the best Cajun food I’ve had north of New Orleans. You must try the shrimp, poor boy, better yet get the surf and turf because the roast beef will blow your mind. My sister and I also had the gumbo, the hush puppies are Devine, succotash was really good, and oh my wonderful tastebuds, the muffaletta was something like you would have on Bourbon Street. If you like Cajun food, this place has great food and a fun environment with lots of outdoor seating. Dog friendly to boot! I highly recommend that you try this at least once if you live in Birmingham or are visiting.“

“Me and my daughter stopped at Pizitz Food Hall as last minute decision. I had the 2 pc catfish, hush puppies and a side of red beans and rice (RBR) with a bottle of water came to $24.20, not including tip. I asked for my catfish to be fried hard. Being Louisiana raised, this was the BEST seasoned, fried to perfection catfish. I refused to give my daughter a corner. 🤗 The hush puppies have kernels of corn which was an added bonus. I will admit I was underwhelmed with the RBR as they were quite bland and little hard than I like. But the other items made up and caused me to be satisfied enough to return.
The young men running it that day were all pleasant and personable.“

“Love this place. The food is absolutely amazing! they've got a beautiful waitress as well, she's always really kind and really sweet and really outgoing, very personable. she's very knowledgeable of the menu, always has a smile on her face and always makes you feel like your family when you come in. the prices are really great as well. there's nowhere else you can go to get an entree for $15.99, that's about average at location. you can't go to McDonald's for that. great food, great fun, great times, and I look forward each time that I go. I just got back today actually, I went to dinner there tonight. love it!“

“I've been going to the cajun steamer in hoover for years. Great to finally try this one, it did not disappoint. Great food, fun staff, and a great atmosphere for being outside a mall instead of the French quarter, but as close as you can get for Birmingham, AL. Thanks again and I'll be back!“
