“Excellent food and ambience. We especially loved the lychee martini and yellowtail jalapeno! The roof has very cute umbrellas and they even have a patio for dining.”
“Celebrated our anniversary with friends. We had a great time. Rebecca was awesome. Attentive to our needs and those drinks, grouper, and oysters were on point. Thank you for making our dinner special.”
“My lady friend and I made reservations late for a table but we did get seats at the bar and really enjoyed chatting with the two bartenders! We both ordered chicken scaloppine piccata and it was delicious. The servings were big so we had plenty left over for another meal! The service was very good. All in all, we had a wonderful dining experience!”
“The atmosphere is that there is no atmosphere...not a negative at all. The service is fast, efficient, and pleasant. The food is always good, tasty, and plentiful.”
“Service was excellent. Great family place with fun decor. But the food was mediocre, and the margaritas were super weak. The mole chicken was just flavorless cooked chicken with mole sauce poured over just before serving. The fajitas had almost no vegetables, just meats. Lots of people like it, but it's not for me.”
“I have been here twice. The first time I had southern style lunch and it was pretty good. The second time I had a gyro and it was fair, just fair. Nothing special and certainly not the best gyro I have ever had. The other person with me had chicken and the seasoning was not to either of our liking. The ckicken smelled ok, but not particularly drawing.”
“The food was spectacular, me and my boyfriend loved every single thing we got. However, I didn’t give it 5 stars because nobody sat us down when we walked in. We were just kind of standing around while people were staring at us. Also it’s not that they weren’t friendly, they just didn’t really smile or make eye contact. Restaurant was kind of plain and boring too. Anyways, the actual food was great and we’d come back to eat here! Also beware, entrance a little odd.. had to park and walk up a stairwell to get there. It’s kind of tucked away in the corner.”
“Do you like mouthwatering food with live music and an atmosphere so great it felt un-earthly? If so, The Palm and Pig is for you. The Smoked wings are simply to die for. Staff is kind, welcoming, and friendly. They go above and beyond to serve both on the floor and in the kitchen, and the results are evident. My only complaint is that I am unable to give this restaurant a Michelin star rating.Parking: Plenty of parking spots”
“Foodbar is outstanding in quality and quantity as well as service. Everything we had was devine from the crab claws and oysters to the brussel sprouts , fish and mussels , burger and deserts. Just wonderful.”
“Really enjoyed this restaurant. Loved the balanced meals and was hesitant about the fruit with every meal at first but I really liked it. The grouper was super good and the lentil soup was very light. The grilled shrimp was an addition but worth getting! Loved the hummus too.”
“Nice little diner with solid Greek cuisine. Yes, they are living in the States long enough to have adjusted the style and flavors, but the Spanokopita was the best (commercially available) that I ever had in Birmingham. The entrees come with one side, a Greek salad, and a roll making it a bit more food than a sensible person that is not doing manual labor should eat.The Greek salad did not resemble any horiatiki I ever had in Greece and the Greek potatoes came in a sauce, which was a disappointment since I clearly remember this vegetarian default dish to be crisp, citrussy, and herbal. Still a good, affordable meal but I cannot give more than 4 stars since everything came on disposable plates.Vegetarian options: There is no vegetarian section on the menu, dishes are not labeled vegetarian, and when I asked there was some hesitation. I thoroughly enjoyed my Spanokopita.”
“I had Kool Korner sandwiches bookmarked for a while now. I regret so much that I didn't get the opportunity to support this wonderful establishment prior to the owner passing away recently. My mom and I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was a decent crowd dining inside and outside. The ordering process is straightforward. I ordered a regular classic cuban with chips and a drink. My mom had a regular pastrami with chips and a drink. We spent roughly $23; not bad for what we ordered. This is definitely the best Cuban I've had locally! The bread is absolutely amazing!!! This is what makes the sandwich. In the future , I will add more pickles as well as mustard. I really enjoyed my first time here and will be back to try more menu items. Got my eye on the beef empanada!!!”
“The Diplomat Deli serves incredible food and offers an excellent beer selection! And the owner and staff are simply the best!!!I ordered an excellent grilled chicken club sandwich that was flavorful and juicy! It was a great change from one of my all time favorite sandwiches. Their club sandwich (that I get served on grilled pumpernickel) is super TASTY and AMAZING ?Don't forget....tis the season for their famous chili!!!Gotta dip into the Dip!!!”
“Decided to give Troups a try after 2 days of googling brick oven pizza near me .. I'm impressed with the flavor of the Margherita Pizza 16 inch. Only con was my pizza wasn't hot after getting back to work but would definitely eat here again!”
“If you love high-quality, amazing food and enjoy Southern cuisine, I cannot recommend this place enough. The culinary attention to detail in every dish is truly outstanding. Do not be deceived by the humbleness of the menu; every single dish is deceptive in its simplicity. When you take a bite you experience multiple dimensions of flavor. We had several dishes and all of them were amazing. I also had the best piece of chicken I have ever had in my life… and that is saying a lot. I only wish I was a local, because I would be there at least once a week!”
