The house salad is excellent and I can't stop ordering it. The Chicken Sautee appetizer is unique and I can't stop ordering that, either. I'm still going through the rest of the menu and so far I've been more than happy.

Based on the reviews, Ranch House Makarios Family Restaurant - Vestavia is a great local place with a casual, homey feel and charm. The food is amazing, with huge portions and good food. Breakfast is a highlight, featuring a spinach omelette, loaded hash browns, grits, biscuits and gravy, and Creme Brulee French toast that is wonderful with no syrup needed. The chicken livers are seasoned perfectly and can be made extra crispy. The staff is friendly, attentive, and nice, with great service. It is a convenient stop off of I-65 with easy in and out, though parking can be a challenge at times. This is a top spot for travelers and a treat not to be missed when driving by in the Vestavia Hills area.
