Our waiter, Robert, was outstanding explaining the specials of the day and suggesting a great wine which really complimented our dinner of shrimp and lobster linguine which was cooked to perfection. “Excellent service & food. We will be back. The restaurant was cozy and clean and quite Italian interior. Would be good for a date night. The server allowed my Mom & I to split an entree. The sides were a la carte with pasta dishes. They have plenty of salads but I would suggest they add something like green beans to the menu...a green vegetable besides salad. The bread was soft and tasty. I would suggest spaghetti noodles vs rigatoni/penne for the chicken parm but chicken was great.“

I relocated to Birmingham a few years ago and had been meaning to dine with you so when my friend asked where I said ‘The Fish Market.’ Well, not only was the food fantastic but your staff was incredible. Our server was a lady named Precious. I have never felt such hospitality from a server. It is hard to describe but she made me feel as though she was eager to help yet didn’t want us feel rushed. It was a genuinely wonderful dining experience and I’m not one to yammer on with recommendations. 😂 Additionally, the bartender (my apologies but I didn’t get her name) delivered my drink to ensure it did not get watered down. That level of service is practically unmatched. Please know you have two wonderful team members in Precious and the bartender. Well done!“

“Masa is our absolute FAVORITE place to eat! Our kids LOVE it and the owners treat us like family with warm smiles and big hugs when we come! “The manager, Art , noticed that I seemed to be chilly and was hugging myself . I was seated under an air-conditioning vent and he came over and told me he had adjusted the thermostat and offered me a shawl which turned out to be soft, black and lovely and made all the difference so that my meal was quite enjoyable. “If Google got rid of all the reviews more than a few years old, this place would have a perfect five-star rating. Clean. Simple aesthetic. Japanese caliber service and respect from staff. Great portions. Incredible value. Had sashimi, sushi rolls, rice, and soup. Five stars on every single item. Even the vegetables were incredibly fresh alongside the other food items mentioned. Nothing frozen. I will be back, and I will be back often. They even have an incredibly good little menu for kids. “I was genuinely excited to try this restaurant after passing by it so many times while traveling through Downtown Homewood. Unfortunately, my experience was a bit of a letdown. That said, it wasn’t terrible by any means, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. A friend and I dined here together as most of my readers know, I often bring someone along for reviews to offer more than just my own perspective. Appetizer: We started with the Tallulah Wings, opting for the Sweet Heat Dry Rub with Alabama White BBQ sauce. The first surprise was that the wings arrived already coated in the sauce. In my opinion, when a sauce is meant as a dip, it’s best served on the side, not as a coating. Unfortunately, the wings themselves were quite underseasoned it reminded me of drinking a LaCroix, with just a faint whisper of the sweet heat flavor. That said, the little flavor I could taste had a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of Golden Flake potato chips and those are undeniably delicious. I just wish the wings had packed more of a punch. Entrée: Next, we tried the Social Stack, essentially their version of a McDonald's Big Mac. I have to say, it was significantly better than a Big Mac. The sauce was flavorful, the patties were fresh and well-seasoned, and everything came together beautifully. It’s a rich burger, but the crispy, seasoned fries helped balance that richness. The freshness and flavor made this burger a standout I’d absolutely order it again. If it weren’t for the disappointing wings, this meal would have earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars. As it stands, I’m giving it 3 out of 5. However, I do plan to return and explore more of their menu. I believe there’s potential here, and I’m hopeful my next visit will be a more satisfying experience.“

“So I visited Carters Hooka bar & Grill for the first time. I had seen so many good reviews on another site so I decided to give it a try. To say I was underwhelmed wouldn't suffice. The atmosphere was nice, chill little vibe. Good music, good vibes, bad food & Drinks were disgusting. We ordered shrimp & grits, steak & shrimp, 2 blue MF (drinks) & Cajun ranch cheese fries. The grits were under cooked, no seasoning, and tasted like water. We added salt and that didn't help at all. The sausage was burnt and it was a little too done. The shrimp was seasoned but it didn't balance the grits. The steak and shrimp tasted like each other. They didn't have a distinct flavor, it's like they cooked it together. The steak was waaayyy overcooked and the heat wasn't hot enough because the steak didn't have a char on the outside. It was spicy along with the shrimp. It did come with 2 potatoes covered in cheese and a side salad that was mostly tomatoes & cucumbers minimal lettuce. The drinks were not good but not bad. Too much alcohol, the end that's all. I would come back but definitely not for the food.“

I wish I remembered our servers name, she was quick and very kind (she had on a David Yurman cross pendant, young and light brown hair). I do recommend making a reservation if you’re going on a Friday/Saturday night. As we were leaving, we heard the hostess say it would be a 3 hour wait for the party that just arrived. Will be back!“

I bought a family-pack of fish for guests that I did not know were coming over. I needed a quick solution. The guests loved the food so much, one of them called me weeks later wanting info on the restaurant because she started craving the food.
