I relocated to Birmingham a few years ago and had been meaning to dine with you so when my friend asked where I said ‘The Fish Market.’ Well, not only was the food fantastic but your staff was incredible. Our server was a lady named Precious. I have never felt such hospitality from a server. It is hard to describe but she made me feel as though she was eager to help yet didn’t want us feel rushed. It was a genuinely wonderful dining experience and I’m not one to yammer on with recommendations. 😂 Additionally, the bartender (my apologies but I didn’t get her name) delivered my drink to ensure it did not get watered down. That level of service is practically unmatched. Please know you have two wonderful team members in Precious and the bartender. Well done!“

“If Google got rid of all the reviews more than a few years old, this place would have a perfect five-star rating. Clean. Simple aesthetic. Japanese caliber service and respect from staff. Great portions. Incredible value. Had sashimi, sushi rolls, rice, and soup. Five stars on every single item. Even the vegetables were incredibly fresh alongside the other food items mentioned. Nothing frozen. I will be back, and I will be back often. They even have an incredibly good little menu for kids. “Last night my husband and I ate dinner at Firebirds. Our steaks were INCREDIBLE. They could compete with Fleming’s or Perry’s. Our service was excellent. I wish I remembered our servers name, she was quick and very kind (she had on a David Yurman cross pendant, young and light brown hair). I do recommend making a reservation if you’re going on a Friday/Saturday night. As we were leaving, we heard the hostess say it would be a 3 hour wait for the party that just arrived. Will be back!“

A friend and I dined here together as most of my readers know, I often bring someone along for reviews to offer more than just my own perspective. Appetizer: We started with the Tallulah Wings, opting for the Sweet Heat Dry Rub with Alabama White BBQ sauce. The first surprise was that the wings arrived already coated in the sauce. In my opinion, when a sauce is meant as a dip, it’s best served on the side, not as a coating. Unfortunately, the wings themselves were quite underseasoned it reminded me of drinking a LaCroix, with just a faint whisper of the sweet heat flavor. That said, the little flavor I could taste had a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of Golden Flake potato chips and those are undeniably delicious. I just wish the wings had packed more of a punch. Entrée: Next, we tried the Social Stack, essentially their version of a McDonald's Big Mac. I have to say, it was significantly better than a Big Mac. The sauce was flavorful, the patties were fresh and well-seasoned, and everything came together beautifully. It’s a rich burger, but the crispy, seasoned fries helped balance that richness. The freshness and flavor made this burger a standout I’d absolutely order it again. If it weren’t for the disappointing wings, this meal would have earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars. As it stands, I’m giving it 3 out of 5. However, I do plan to return and explore more of their menu. I believe there’s potential here, and I’m hopeful my next visit will be a more satisfying experience.“

Yes, the decor was low budget plastic and the disposable plates were still the usual for Covid, but the food was very good. No better fried shrimp and oysters. Everything was cooked to order and hot from the fryer. I think some previous reviewers were expecting Captain D's prices for very good seafood. Little Caesars hot and ready ain't got nothing on them. And speedy too. Don't go there stressing them out like that being rude because it ain't that serious. They are genuinely nice people. Their customer service skills puts chick fila to shame. Don't be in a rush when you go because you will wait a few minutes because they are cooking your food fresh for you. If I could put a billboard on my car and advertise for them I would because their food is amazing. 10/10 would recommend.“
