Our waiter, Robert, was outstanding explaining the specials of the day and suggesting a great wine which really complimented our dinner of shrimp and lobster linguine which was cooked to perfection. Our dessert of crème brûlée was spectacular! The best meal we have had in a while and I highly recommend Amore for a truly enjoyable experience.“

“I like how each table makes a person feel they have the restaurant to themselves. It is quiet and I didn't hear anything from the kitchen, bar and barely anything from other diners. I did like that my water glass was always full. That is a rare thing these days but it is the little things that make a difference. Our waitress was not overbearing but made sure we had everything at each point in the meal. It was unusual in a restaurant to not see cell phones being constantly used everywhere. Yes, the decor was low budget plastic and the disposable plates were still the usual for Covid, but the food was very good. No better fried shrimp and oysters. “So I visited Carters Hooka bar & Grill for the first time. I had seen so many good reviews on another site so I decided to give it a try. To say I was underwhelmed wouldn't suffice. The atmosphere was nice, chill little vibe. Good music, good vibes, bad food & Drinks were disgusting. We ordered shrimp & grits, steak & shrimp, 2 blue MF (drinks) & Cajun ranch cheese fries. The grits were under cooked, no seasoning, and tasted like water. We added salt and that didn't help at all. The sausage was burnt and it was a little too done. The shrimp was seasoned but it didn't balance the grits. The steak and shrimp tasted like each other. They didn't have a distinct flavor, it's like they cooked it together. The steak was waaayyy overcooked and the heat wasn't hot enough because the steak didn't have a char on the outside. It was spicy along with the shrimp. It did come with 2 potatoes covered in cheese and a side salad that was mostly tomatoes & cucumbers minimal lettuce. The drinks were not good but not bad. Too much alcohol, the end that's all. I would come back but definitely not for the food.“

I bought a family-pack of fish for guests that I did not know were coming over. I needed a quick solution. The guests loved the food so much, one of them called me weeks later wanting info on the restaurant because she started craving the food.

“I was scared to stop by this restaurant because of the reviews I have read on here but I walked in spoke to the Asian lady and she spoke back .I came back the next week and the same lady took my order .I speak put in my order and wait while it's cooked fresh .The two young African American ladies I encounter has been nice and polite . I'm not sure if they read your reviews and changed but I haven't had not one problem and the food has bern hot and Delicious. I Pray it stays this way“

“I was genuinely excited to try this restaurant after passing by it so many times while traveling through Downtown Homewood. Unfortunately, my experience was a bit of a letdown. That said, it wasn’t terrible by any means, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. A friend and I dined here together as most of my readers know, I often bring someone along for reviews to offer more than just my own perspective. Appetizer: We started with the Tallulah Wings, opting for the Sweet Heat Dry Rub with Alabama White BBQ sauce. The first surprise was that the wings arrived already coated in the sauce. In my opinion, when a sauce is meant as a dip, it’s best served on the side, not as a coating. Unfortunately, the wings themselves were quite underseasoned it reminded me of drinking a LaCroix, with just a faint whisper of the sweet heat flavor. That said, the little flavor I could taste had a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of Golden Flake potato chips and those are undeniably delicious. I just wish the wings had packed more of a punch. Entrée: Next, we tried the Social Stack, essentially their version of a McDonald's Big Mac. I have to say, it was significantly better than a Big Mac. The sauce was flavorful, the patties were fresh and well-seasoned, and everything came together beautifully. It’s a rich burger, but the crispy, seasoned fries helped balance that richness. The freshness and flavor made this burger a standout I’d absolutely order it again. If it weren’t for the disappointing wings, this meal would have earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars. As it stands, I’m giving it 3 out of 5. However, I do plan to return and explore more of their menu. I believe there’s potential here, and I’m hopeful my next visit will be a more satisfying experience.“

“I wanted crab legs for my birthday, and the Crab Barrack did not disappoint! our table started with drinks and the fried calamari, which was delicious. Lightly fried, not greasy, and the meat was tender, not chewy. I ordered a 1/2 pound of crab legs, a lobster tail, and added a boiled egg; all in the garlic butter sauce. It was boiled to perfection! I was able to crack the legs with my hands and pull out solid pieces of meat. The meat was tender and not at all dry. It was the same for the lobster tail. The others at the table ordered fried okra, shrimp, and fish. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back!!“
