“Captain D is a lot better than it used to be but I just received my meal. The bread was ruined because they placed it in the box where the juice from green beans soaked it. The corn was old. It was terrible. I ordered a $4.59 dessert and was charged but never received it. I tried calling them after I returned home but no answer. Hopefully they will fix it but I don't want to drive another 40 minutes to get it tonight. The service was good though. The lady was pleasant when she took my order. The fish was very good. The loaded potato was old, and the cheese was melted on the foil but not the potato. But I could tell the potato was old and not fresh. I paid $22.09 for one meal and only ate less than half.. please do better.“
“First time visitors We had Seafood platter and Oyster dinner, both were excellent Shrimp was the best north of the gulf, oysters big and cooked just right. Sides salad , coleslaw, hushpuppies, baked beans and fries all good. We will be back and definitely recommend. Service staff very nice.“
“First time at this establishment. Had a short wait for the owner to come and wait on our table. The food came out after a while and was good well and delicious. It is obviously a popular place with most everyone coming g in as we ate. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would return at some e point and recommend others to try it as well.“
“Best bar and restaurant on Logan Martin Lake. Hours are limited except on the weekend. Inside is old school bar with comfortable seating. Kid friendly until night when it goes 18 and up. The chef is wonderful at creating delicious seafood and chicken dishes along with a very solid steak sandwich. My favorite dish is the fried shrimp dinner the shrimp is done tempura style and is such a nice change of pace from heavier fried food at most places in town. They also have a full bar and a good beer selection. Table service inside and outside on the lovely patio that gives you a great view to watch boats motor by. Everyone from the staff to the crowd is friendly and welcoming so don't let the exterior put you off. The location is down by the damn and easy to get to on the water. Via land it's a bit of a haul if you are in Pell City but I think well worth it.Parking: During summer you can tie your boat up. Coming via car decent sized lot in front of building but can get crowded. It's on a narrow peninsula so watch your tires if parking on street its a drop on the sides.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and a kids menu.“

“Had 4 different people waiting on us. We ordered steak fajitas and they didn't bring us our flour tortillas, had to ask for them. Also had to ask for napkins.We also ordered a medium margarita and it was mostly just ice for 13.99$!Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere, everyone was kind.“
“I read some reviews past and present, but wanted to give it a try ourselves to be objective about this older restaurant. It is a pretty casual Mom and pop restaurant, we're pretty much you can see yourself and your waitress will come and take your drink orders. Casual dining with antique or old school type feel or vibe. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered jalapeño poppers for appetizer (wife loved them) and wife, ordered fillet mignon, with baked potato and a salad. I ordered a two-piece catfish dinner with Cajun fries and coleslaw. My wife was not blown away by the dinner salad, as it seem to have cheaper iceberg Lettuce and remnants, a little cheese, tomatoes and possibly some carrots. But her steak made up for any shortcoming with her salad. Tasty cooked to order! My catfish was very good as well, perfectly cooked and flaky, which came with good size hush puppies as well. Cajun fries were pretty good and the slaw was surprisingly great! I love Mom & Pop restaurants, especially these days with so many big chains coming in to medium to smaller towns and driving out the local restaurants. We would definitely recommend and would come back to try something different. Steaks are not cheap, but most good steaks are not with any restaurant these days.“
