“I was in town for a concert . My initial choice (traditional American)was full and my belly couldn’t wait any longer . So we turned the corner and found this little gem . The service was a walk through the flavor profile of each meat … which I ended up getting all three . The Jasmine rice with the little burnt pieces add the much missing flavour in many dishes . The chicken , steak or the lamb you can not go wrong . A must if you’re down town or anywhere for that matter.“
“Enjoyable & wonderful food. Always fresh & delish. Great service. Mo & Matt are long timers & will make sure you are well taken care of. Though you will be full at the end of your meal, be sure to try the cheesecake covered in whipped cream. Wow...enough for several to share a bite!Kid-friendliness: Sandwiches & fruits are kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp close by at Subway end.“
“Ya me habían recomendado ir a Red Sea, pero hasta la semana pasada pude verificar lo que me habían dicho. Qué comida tan tica la que preparan ahí, personas muy amables que explican cada plato y buena cantidad de comida, vale la pena visitarlos.“
“Great staff and service is always a pleasure. Food is always fantastic and you feel known and valued.Parking: Good size corner parking lot with more room in the back of the building.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat parking lot. No steps to enter. Open floor plan along with patio.“
“This is my favorite restaurant to grab lunch from in Birmingham. This location is only a few minutes walk from the medical district. My go-to order is the falafel wrap with hummus, Jerusalem salad, lettuce, and onions. I drench mine in hot sauce, but be careful, it is really really spicy. I used to get a pita, but it always ripped apart and made a mess while I was eating it. The restaurant gets really busy during lunch hour, but the line moves very fast. The staff is also very friendly. I wish this restaurant was open for longer hours. They opened a second location in Hoover, but it just doesn't taste the same.“
“Hanging out in Birmingham, AL on business for a few weeks and it's lunch time! How good can the Mediterranean be in Alabama of all places? Well, let's fine out!Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of 20th Street South and 10th Avenue is this gem. It's well presented and looks super inviting. There is parking for a few cars in the front, but if I can remember there are more spots in the back or else, just park on the street since this is pretty close to downtown. Once inside the restaurant is pretty chill. There's LOTS of artwork hung up all over the place with plenty of straight up & down wooden booths to sit in. Once you walk in you can actually walk right up to a counter to place your order or you can choose table service of course. It was pretty chill in here the time that we came.Service: Service was just fine. Nothing crazy and he made sure that I had everything that I needed.Food: For my entree I went with the Shish Combo which comes with a shish kabob made of beef, shish tawook made of chicken and one kafta which is ground lamb, parsley and onion then served with a salad. Of course there's rice on the side. Everything was delicious, juicy, loaded with flavor and it felt authentic. The lamb was a lil' dry, but that was my only complaint. I loved the food here and it was SUPER filling for sure.Value: Back when I visited this combo was $28.59, but now it's $30.00. Not bad at all. Like I said, the food was filling so you could get more than one meal out of it and it was absolutely worth it.I'd certainly pay this place a return visit if I'm in the area. You should too!“
“The food is really good and the people who work here are professional and very kind and courteous. It's a rare pleasure these days to deal with such nice folks. Eating can be difficult for diabetics, however, this place has been a quick healthy option for me and the workers always cheer me up. 10/10“
“Love the salmon and shrimp feast the most!! Also the Friday special...love it that they will let me substitute the chickens for shrimps...Tazikis grilled shrimps are the best!!So far so good..this location has not mess up any of my orders when I place my to go orders!! So they deserve my 5 stars!!!“
“Absolutely wonderful, delicious food especially the Falafal and really friendly, helpful staff. I live in Birmingham UK and visit my sister here in Alabama twice a year. Visiting The Olive Branch has become a weekly tradition when I'm here. Thank “
“This is always a must-go place for me when I’m back in Birmingham. Between the daily specials and the regular menu items, the food is wonderful and fresh. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and much nicer than a fast food restaurant!. Oh how I wish we had a Taziki’s in the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area!Parking: There is a large, free parking lot in front, but it can be a little difficult to find parking around peak lunch hours. This lot is shared by other restaurants and is in the midst of a busy business complex, so this definitely can cut into availability.“
“I really enjoy the healthy choices Tzatziki’s offers. Their food is very good, and I know it is good for me!Parking: The parking is adequate. If it is during a busy time, parking is limited, but most of the time it is easy to find a parking space.“
“It’s great to have the original menu back, but certain items are different than I recall. While the potato salad and chicken salad lived up to our hopes, my old favorite, the chicken and slaw pita, was a disappointment. In the old days the slaw wasn’t marinated and you’d add oil and vinegar at your table, but with marinated slaw the pita fell apart immediately. Worse, the chicken was less flavorful than I remembered. That’s ok - hopefully they can work out the kinks and return to the original menu’s former glory.“
“Honestly I’m never disappointed when I go whether I order online, delivery, or eat in. I’m only surprised I took this long to finally review. My two personal favorites are the salmon feast and the Monday special: chicken portobello sandwich!“
“Passing through bham while traveling and found this restaurant as a recommendation for vegan options. They have amazing options for both vegans and none vegans, everyone is so nice, atmosphere is great downtown vibe, and the food is sooo good!! Will come again!“
“I had dinner tonight at Brock’s and the atmosphere is amazing. It’s very modern with an open kitchen. I got to sit at the chef’s table and was greeted by amazing servers and chefs. The focaccia bread was amazing and so flavorful and served with the house butter. I enjoyed the flatbread with rotisserie chicken, goat cheese, and grapes. I would highly recommend the flatbread. It was delicious with fresh ingredients and made in front of you in the kitchen. This is a perfect spot for a great dinner and to get away and relax from the busy day.“
“My husband and I love the food, service, and atmosphere at this location especially when we are fortunate to receive A1 service from Jay!! She is always patient, kind and assists us with a smile!!Vegetarian options: There’s an array of delectable options! Not a real fan of eating out however, I enjoy coming here because it satisfies my vegan palate!“
“This is a great student hangout spot. It was surprisingly small, and there wasn't a lot of parking space. The back entry is closed. The building isn't visually appealing either but the food is good and the location is convenient.“
“My husband and I come to the Hoover location several times a year and when we have family visit we bring them too… the food is always amazing and we have always had wonderful service from the staff… prices are affordable and the servings are so plentiful… the restaurant itself is a little dated but always clean and accommodating .my favorite is the cannaloni and the hubs loves the beef sovlaki thank you costas for all that you are … Chris and Mandy Reynolds“
“Take your tastebuds on a magical journey that will delight and thrill. This is as authentic as it gets for Greek cuisine in Alabama. There is most definitely truth in advertising as everything was indeed tasty. Since I couldn’t decide on what to order I instinctively went for a whole assortment of different flavor profiles. The baked chicken is the tell , if you go to a Greek restaurant and they don’t have a good baked chicken… walk out. This should be a staple on every single Greek menu. Seemingly innocuous but it is the cannery in the coal mine so to speak for what you can expect for the rest of the meal. It outperformed even my high expectations. Served with a grilled lemon to squeeze over the top it was perfectly salted and not over or under cooked. Our sides were the Greek fries (which were crispy in all the right ways, and a punch of saltiness from the cheese) I asked for some taziki sauce for the chicken but dipped my fries on it as well. Honestly I didn’t even dip the chicken in it because it tasted so good on its own I didn’t have to. I also feasted upon the spinach rice and tabouleh and both were opposites on the flavor spectrum one with warm savory spices that melted with the tomatoes and rice and the other bursting with fresh herbs and spring vegetables with Frekkah which is a roasted green wheat that adds such a wonderful texture and pleasant yet slightly nutty flavor. The orzo “Mac and cheese” is no ordinary Mac and cheese side, this Greek version of a classic dish had such an amazing mouth feel with some garlic and herb notes that just elevated it to the next level. And I’m going to end where we started which was with the appetizers. I can never get past the spanakopita (which is heavy on the dill just like I like it) But today I added in the garden humus which had fresh limas and asparagus with an array of herbs with a drizzle of olive oil… and that is just the topping, underneath laid a silky smooth hummus that was not grainy or bitter . The fresh pita sent me over the moon… I was in greek heaven. The chicken pita was like having all the freshness of the salads and the spot on roasted chicken all in one…. So you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I have yet to try something I absolutely didn’t love . We were so stuffed that we had to get the desserts to go but my god … if you haven’t been here you are missing out on one of the best restaurants Birmingham has to offer. It’s a hidden gem in plain sight.“
