Went there today to check it out and support, the restaurant is clean the staff has on uniform which i like and there are plenty food options. The staff was not to much friendly no smiles. I ordered the ox tail plate with greens in Candied yams and cornbread muffins. The yams had plenty of nutmeg, but no sugar or butter. It was not sweet the oxtails were full of fat and not seasoned yet greasy. The oxtails looked like beef stew and rice. The greens although they were fresh did not have an ounce of seasoning. No flavor. Taste like it was cooked in water. I’m a cook myself and there was no meat in the greens. no seasoning, no broth juice, greens, and onions. The cornbread muffins tasted like water in cornmeal. The lemonade was great very sweet! For my second plate we had fried chicken it was not fresh, just sitting under a lamp, the macaroni and cheese was creamy cheesy cheesy just had no seasoning no flavor this food would be really good for a diabetic patient someone who cannot have salt or seasoning. The bottom line is there was no flavor no soulfood dinner was not reminiscent of southern cuisine. for the taste it was too expensive.

Worst soul food ever! Really over sweetened Candid Yams taste like sticky cheap syrup with a bunch of sugar.Dressing tasted like watery cornbread with seasoned salt. Stuffed bellp was okay. Truly did not enjoy the food.

I have only been once in person, but my daughter works near there and brought me food, it was good. You should go early (before 3 or 4pm) to get the better options and I have only been on sundays so I don't know how the weekday items are but I will try them soon.

They chitterling plates went from $17 to $30 withen a matter of months that's crazy and that's why the business has slowed down so much can't be greedy your losing loyal customers for it .

Yelp! This food looks good, but it is horrible. I like supporting these type businesses, but food is just not good. Looks good, but taste does not add up to me. My Boo decided to brew by me a plate for lunch, so sweet. I got baked chicken with dressing, collard greens and Mac and cheese. Sounds amazing, but no. Chicken mediocre, but not the worst I have had. Greens, nasty. Note the stars. Mac and cheese, awful. Another star. Cornbread muffins, straight to the trash. Another one. Appearance is good, but taste is everything. Improve your taste. You are some nice people with great service. Y'all already know, I'm not coming back.

The Ladies of Apple Dumpling are funny, sweet, n kind. Their like your aunties in the family who you can cut up with but they still get you together when you get out of line. It's a very HOMELY atmosphere, the food just tops it off.

I went to this place with my mom after it was recommended by her coworker. I can honestly say that this is some of the best southern food I have ever had! The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and fresh! The chicken was very tender and pretty much fell off the bone. The yams were delicious and tasted like my grandma made them. The dressing was amazing! This meal took me back to Thanksgiving, eating homemade food my family! I have been to restaurants that charge less for a meat and two side items, but the quality of the food was worth the higher price. Before you enter the restaurant, there is a sign on the door that says masks are required, but this rule was not enforced. There was also a sign on the register that stated they were only doing takeout orders, but we were asked if the order was for here or to go.

Fish was severely overcooked. Scalloped potatoes were undercooked. No sauce offered for fish or fried green tomatoes. Peach cobbler was rock hard. Not going back.
