This review is long overdue, but this place is like family to me...I moved here 3 years ago, afraid that Birmingham wouldn't have any decent wine, believing that $3 rest stop muscadine was my dreaded fate. They proved me wrong and they took me in as a friend, as well as creating an addiction to Beaujolais, when I was determined to only drink Italian wines. I can 100% guarantee their wine doesn't suck.

Wonderful wine bar with small eats! Had a fantastic server that made great suggestions for first time visitors. Will definitely return.

What a cool eclectic place with an incredible wine selection that you will not find mundane. I was able to sample this little beauty on the spot before purchasing and found it a delightful full-bodied and bold cab that everyone loved. Going back for sure

Great environment with outstanding small plates and wine selection. Great for a meal or an appetizer and glass of vino before dinner.

Our group of four popped in for a drink while we waited for our table at Bamboo on 2nd. This was an excellent recommendation from the host at Bamboo. None of us had visited Avine before and were happy for the opportunity. All our cocktails were tasty and our server was fast and very friendly. Well go back when we can try some of their food too.

The food was pretty good and the cocktails were top-notch. The environment was nice. The service was ok, but the server was a snob.

The food, drinks, and staff are all top notch. It's classy without being pretentious, you can get actual good quality food "late night", and has a downtown neighborhood bar feel to it. This place is wonderful!

Visited after Karaoke night at Sidewalk. They are open late, have good service, the meatball small plate was good, and the drinks aren't overpriced.

After a second visit, I suspect this place will get a fifth star. My wife and I were looking for a cheese plate and someone in a nearby shop pointed us here. We were immediately impressed with the clean, crisp design ethic, offset by a wall of old Bessemer grey brick. It could be located in the East Village, NYC.For a wine bar, we were shocked to find a well curated, classic cocktail menu. We tried the Aviation and Sazerac and were very happy with them. The staff and owner were wonderful. We found this spot perfect for a late afternoon stop, not crowded, good background music and great cocktails.

Just ok. Music was too loud. Prices high. Especially on wine.

Loved it

Reed will take good care of you at the bar and helped find a great bottle to go. This is the best, and maybe only, spot to grab a bottle downtown. Great spot for wine lovers.
