Edit: I went back today to explain the situation and ask for a refund for the full beers taken from me. Bobby was so nice and incredibly helpful, I’d like to reiterate that the bartending staff here can be wonderful, but a few of them need to learn that yelling at people doesn’t make you good at your job. Really thankful for him today for listening and understanding, I hope y’all are able to fix the venue and alcohol wristbands more smoothly and get staff that is all as kind as Bobby is. Thank you again for taking the time to listen and help me today
I love Avondale brewing and their brew options, but tonight at the Ross Lynch concert me and my friend group showed up about an hour after show start due to work, they did not scan our tickets, they did check our ID’s at the gate and they said we were good to go in. We went to the bar and ordered drinks, we’re ID’d and went to enjoy the show. About halfway through the main set, we went back to get another beer, and on our way back to our spot was stopped by “the boss” who snatched our beers out of our hands and immediately started yelling at us. I understand that they’re our underage people running around with alcohol, but I’m 26 and had an ID to prove it. If everyone drinking is required to have wristbands at the show then wristbands should be available throughout the entire show with an appropriate ID. This girl would not even let us ask how to get one as we tried to go ask our bartender who had ID’d us and given us drinks where to get wristbands at but she wouldn’t let us ask them either. I understand that people have jobs to do, but I don’t think the way she handled the situation was in her job description. The bartenders were nice, and I apologize if we caused the bartenders any trouble, but with proper ID (which I had) I should have been able to finish my $18 beers. If bartenders are checking ID’s they should be able to hand out wristbands, no one should ever yell at a human being like that, it was unnecessary for even an event manager.
Went to avondale for my first time tonight for the ross lynch concert and wont be going back anytime soon. Was disrespected by one of the managers or what the bartender called “their boss” She step out in front of us and took our drinks out of our hands because we didn’t have a red wrist band? But nobody at the gate nor the bartender the two times I bought drinks told me I needed one and when I tried to clarify or ask someone else on how to get these wrist bands she was immediately rude and told the bartender we couldnt have any more drinks. I even showed her my ID and she made it out like we were being difficult and that she would make us leave. Still enjoyed the concert but avondale seriously needs better management.
Nice atmosphere. My gf and I just saw Sister Hazel here. Great IPA beer.
A super cool brewery, with delicious beer & friendly service. Visited on a weekday afternoon & the place was quiet, can imagine it would be a great vibe at a busier time!
Nice place for a show.
The staff hassled my gf and made her take off her garment chains at the yung gravy concert. They also pressed her at the merchandise table. It wasn't organized and they were rude. If they don't have enough staff that's they're own fault. We walked up and couldn't even look before we were told if we're not buying anything we need to leave. Legitimately the moment we walked up. Furthermore she was told to take off her chains and not wear them which we figured to check for the scanner but then she didnt even check her saying to put them in her purse then telling her to come on in. If it's a problem we like Gothic wear that's derogatory judgements based on our personality. Furthermore if the organization and staffing doesn't do better someone could get harmed by how many people crowded together and more.
Send people out in the pouring rain, thunder and lightning and laugh in your face when you ask for shelter from bad weather. A joke of an establishment.
It's a nice venue. Mostly outdoors. At the concert I went to there it was stand room only with very little space between people. That was really the reason for 4 stars. I would have reduced ticket sales slightly to give people more room. We paid extra for A-list which gave us access to restrooms that were not port potties and a place to buy drinks. We used it coming in, but never went back once the concert started. I don't know that we could have moved in that direction, and if we were able we definitely would have lost our spot. Also being outdoors it's a smoking venue, and smells were horrible the whole night from the many people smoking different things. The staff was friendly. When the doors opened it was very nice. Once the concert started though I felt as though I was trapped.
Great sound and plenty of room for the show we went to. Full bar and beer taps available. Part of the space is cushioned Astro turf. Bring a folding chair maybe depending on the show.
Saw Primus last night great show, fun venue.

Amazing intimate venue, will definitely return. Water refill stations are great! Good area feels very safe
What an amazing venue with yummy beer. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Whenever I’m in Birmingham again I definitely plan to stop in for another session ipa!
I had a wonderful time at this venue!! I like the way it is set up which made my experience great. Only con is the line for the entrance was so out of order. People that arrived late got in before people who arrived early.
