We were pleasantly surprised to find this jewel on hwy 280. The menu had wonderful selections of authentic dishes and the Mahi tacos were so delicious. My husband really enjoyed the shrimp tacos as well. Great margaritas didn't hurt either. Wish we had found this place sooner. Sad they will be moving to Anniston but will enjoy our next visit for sure.
Besitos is the best Mexican restaurant in Birmingham, no competition. We eat here almost once a week. Many of their recipes are family recipes. The flank steak is my favorite- its tender and flavorful. There is a spicy sauce that comes with the street tacos that is so so cute (very spicy). Margaritas are smooth and sour. What can I say, everything is great.
We made a very large takeout order this past Friday for 10 people, and half of us unfortunately got food poisoning for the next two days! We traced it to be likely from the shredded chicken. Food quality was okay as reported across our group. The service in person was good and it took about 30min as estimated for the take out order to be ready. However, ordering over the phone was really difficult as both employees could hardly hear through the phone and the background noise was very high. When we called on Saturday to let them know that we had for poisoning from some of the food the night before, they were shockingly rude and dismissive to our call and said nobody had called in food poisoning yet that day.We won't be returning, there are many other great Mexican restaurants around. The building was nice but had very limited seating, and the location around Lee Branch is good.
Look no further! We tried out a few places, but this has become our go to for good Mexican food. Delicious, creative menu with high quality, flavorful ingredients. The chef/owner is always around and the employees are very kind. We like to get there right as it’s opening, since there aren’t many tables. Tried quite a few things on the menu and everything has been delicious. Their fresh fruit juices are tasty too (watermelon, pineapple/cucumber, etc.).
Today I tried out Besitos For the first time. Being that I am from Texas and I know authentic Mexican food when I taste it this place was really really good. Everything was fresh, the different Salsas were delicious and most importantly the tortillas were authentic. The service was absolutely wonderful~ I highly recommend this place in Birmingham Alabama!!
This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant we have in our area. I had small plate with shrimp that was delicious. The guacamole was very fresh. The service was excellent. There are not a lot of tables so be prepared to wait.
This place is amazing!!! There food is so yummy!!! Highly recommend for lunch or even dinner. I got Street Corn and it gives me so much childhood memories.
My friend and I went to this restaurant after work only to find that it closed in 15 minutes. We thought about ordering food to go, but were encourage to sit down and eat by one of the owners. One of the other owners was our waiter and made sure we didn’t feel rushed. He also had excellent recommendations. I got the street tacos which were to die for. You can tell they use very fresh ingredients as each bite is bursting with delicious, fresh flavor. Their flavored water was a wonderful surprise! We tried the pineapple cucumber water and strawberry watermelon water. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting delicious, fresh Mexican food brought to you by people who you can tell, love what they do. Can’t wait to eat there again!
Al pastor and carnitas both succulent and a hearty portion! Very good version of esquites and the service was outstanding.
Excellent authentic Mexican. Our family of four each had something different and every dish was delicious. Really appreciate pinto beans as the standard side over refried beans. The Rico Arroz with steak was more than I could eat. Horchata is made fresh. Owners are super friendly as well. What’s not to like!? We’ll definitely be back.

There is a selfish part of me that doesn't want to ahre this place. What a hidden gem! The space this restaurant picked has turned over several times, so a lot of people don't know about it, yet!Once word gets out they will need more space. The food a very good, best chips and salsa I've had in some time. And I highly recommend the chicken fajitas. All that to say and I didn't mention the service, this restaurant actually has staff and they are happy to work. It was like a 2018 flashback.Enjoy!
This place is soooo good. Jalapeño Margarita is great!!! I got the burrito w everything...so delicious. This place should be your next stop for Mexican. It's small so eat early or late.
Imagine if the best, most authentic Mom-n-Pop Mexican food truck was EVEN BETTER and opened a restaurant. This place is an easy 5 star review. They don't use the same two meats for every dish on the menu like typical local Mexican food places. Everything on a dish is specially crafted for the THAT DISH.Family recipes are obviously in play and the stories behind the dishes are great to hear from the staff. I hate to leave this review because it will only increase the traffic, but they deserve it. This is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant now.
New Restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt. Not too busy about 1 hour from closing. Today I tried the enmoldas. They were very good. If you have never tried the Mole sauce then you may want to ask for a sample. Looking forward to coming back when they get their liquor license to try a margarita.
OUR NEW GO TO MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON 280!Family run business and they are wonderful!I have always wanted to try Birria tacos and they did not disappoint. The food was outstanding! We sat down right after a party of 20 and the staff did not miss a beat.Multiple staff members came by to check on us.Food and drinks were reasonably priced. One of the proprietors came by the table and said they had been open only 5 weeks, but based on our experience I would have guessed 5 years.Go check out this family run business!
