My favorite restaurant in Birmingham and my go-to spot for date nights and girls’ nights! The carbonara is absolutely incredible, the ambiance is perfect, and the service is always top-notch. Special shoutout to Maria who served us tonight—she was so sweet and attentive. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Bettola is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Birmingham. The food is consistently incredible—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. From wood-fired pizzas to housemade pastas, everything feels both elevated and comforting.
What really sets Bettola apart, though, is the hospitality. Huge shoutout to Alex the host, who always makes you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you walk in. And Maria, our favorite server, brings warmth, attentiveness, and great recommendations every time—we always hope to be seated in her section!

Fire Susan C. The food is always amazing. I’ve been here many times. I went with 5 people total last week. Susan was dismissive and rarely came back to our table. From the time she gave us our checks to the time she picked them up was 25 minutes, I timed it. I saw her walk by at around 10-15 minutes and said “oh when you get a moment our checks are all ready :)” and she whipped her head around and said “Well I have other tables.” We were there about 1.5-2 hours and 4 of us only had 1 drink because she never gave us a chance to order another. She made us all feel unwelcome despite us being nice and literally just normal patrons. One of my friends noted that she had Susan as a waiter before and it was a similar experience. Sad bc we love the restaurant.

I recently revisited Botella at Pepper Place for lunch, and it was just as delightful as I remembered. The laid-back and quiet atmosphere makes it perfect for a relaxed meal with a significant other, friends, or just some downtime. 👍❤️
We ordered a pizza half topped with chicken and half with Italian sausage. The Italian sausage side was delicious, but the chicken was a bit dry for my taste.🤦♀️ Despite this, the service was excellent, and parking was readily available. 😁
I'll definitely return to Botella, opting for the all-Italian sausage pizza next time. 🤭 If you haven't been to Botella yet, make it a point to visit. You won't be disappointed by their wide variety of pizza and pasta options!👍

Whatever you do, order the burrata. It IS worth the price. You'll be tempted to get one for each person in your party, and I won't recommend against that.

Had a wonderful meal, including an exquisite white pizza with mushroom and truffle oil, a plum cocktail, and a mixed green/herb salad. I sat inside and was pleased to find that it wasn’t too loud or too crowded, although they were plenty of people.

UPDATE: THEY CHARGE ME AN EXTRA 20% AFTER I PAID MY BILL!!!! WTFFF ???? THANKFULLY I HAVE THE EMAIL RECIPT TO PROVE IT !!! NYE outing that was to be left in 2024, The food was amazing as the past 3 times I been here ! Our server however was by far the worse server I ever had. (Parker after finding out his name in the receipt because he never told us) greeted us after being sat for over 15 minutes, never gave us recommendations and was bland. I felt like me a 24 year old male and my girlfriend 22 were profiled as every other table he seemed to deliver his best service. The cherry on top was magically not having any desserts left, as he told us… correct no options of desserts for us. The kitchen is an open concept and I was able to capture a few desserts being taken out after we paid our bill. Needless to say we may be back but will for sure ask to not be in his section.
Good restaurant! Would definitely recommend! Their bread is the best bread I've ever eaten!

Bettola is outstanding for date night, girlfriend’s gathering, team dinners, or private time at the large bar. They are well known for their brick oven pizzas and savory pastas. They are committed to their Italian roots so the sauces are bursting with flavor and served piping hot. Great options for pescatarians, my favorite is the sautéed calamari in red sauce served with artisan bread. They have a variety of salads available and their dressing is made in house. I also recommend their charcuterie, perfect for small or large groups! A real gem of a place with a lively yet friendly vibe!
