We had an incredible dinner at Bistro 218. The redfish was perfectly cooked—delicate and full of flavor—and the steak frites were outstanding, cooked to perfection with the crispiest, most delicious fries. The cocktails were equally impressive. The French martini stood out as one of the best we’ve ever had, and when the bar ran out of Bloody Mary mix, they went above and beyond by making one from scratch using fresh tomatoes from the kitchen!
The service was top-notch—friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive. The entire evening felt special, from the warm atmosphere to the thoughtful touches in every detail. Bistro 218 is easily one of Birmingham’s finest restaurants, and we can’t wait to return.
Went to Bistro 218 to celebrate a birthday. The upstairs tenants were varnishing their floors. The varnish smell was very strong but the staff was able to move us immediately. Throughout the evening they also moved other clients to various sister establishments and to other areas so everyone could enjoy their meal. The extra mile means to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoys the wonderful food means a lot.

Fantastic food, cocktails, and desserts! My only (albeit niche, but important) complaint is that the risotto dish specifically has “vegetarian options available.” This is not true - the risotto is made with chicken stock. Our fantastic and lovely server Amelia told me before I ordered thankfully, but this was disappointing to hear. I’m looking forward to returning and hopefully seeing a wording revision!
