The ribs had a great flavor, but they were kinda of tough. There were only 4 sides available when I visited. The cabbage was overcooked BUT the baked beans were the best!Parking: Parking is limited and there is no inside dinning.

It's one of my father's favorite places to eat...too much salt in certain foods..they need to cook with other seasonings

This is by far one of Birmingham's most underrated restaurants. The food is amazing! It taste like its from your grandmother's kitchen. Prices are unbelievable. Go today!

This was the blandest soul food I have ever had. It was like water was used as a seasoning for the dressing( cornbread stuffing ). Tasted no celery, onion, or any of the other main ingredients but cornbread and mushroom soup. The corn muffin was terrible since it was harder and durable as a rubber ball( could be caused by using too much water and oil, trying using buttermilk, and a lot of butter). It was like grits were used instead of cornmeal too. The fried chicken was burnt on one side but it was the only thing edible on the plate. The beef tips and rice had no flavor, at all. Even adding salt and pepper to it still tasted like over boiled beef with more water to spread out the gravy. You can add more flavor by grilling the onions with the meat and adding a pinch of salt and pepper. Then make the gravy out of the oil and fat left and a cup of flour plus add a pinch of salt and pepper. Keep stirring until all the flour is an even brown color, then add 3/4 cup of stock( meat or vegetable ). The macaroni and cheese tasted like nachos with jalapeño. The banana pudding was m ore than 2-3 days old, by taste and the discoloration of the bananas. The green tomatoes were burnt as well and over seasoned( do not season the batter if you have seasoned the tomatoes or have brined them in a seasoning nor use fish fry seasoning). The lemonade was super watery, like it was the first thing made and sat there while the ice melted. Make the drink last and of the juice is super sweet and hot use cubed ice instead of crushed ice since it melts slower.

Great little spot for a nice quick meal! Their price is just right and the food plenty! Loved the mashed potatoes with the ribs and the pork chop is delicious. You can order ahead for takeout and they are fast!
