This is the kind of place that reminds you of the show Cheers where when the regulars come in they know you by name. Our anniversary seems to always include Cajun/Louisiana food, so we decided to try somewhere new and found this location close enough to give it a shot. On arrival we were immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere. After showing my wife the menu ahead of time she had already made up "our" mind what to get. We started with a cup of Grandma Donovan's Seafood Gumbo that came with some fresh Gambino's French bread. The gumbo was good, not the best I ever had but I would get it again. The bread was very good, a little garlic butter and lightly toasted would push it to incredible. For our entree we shared the Seafood Platter with French Fries, Jack's Cajun Slaw, Catfish, Shrimp, Oysters, Hushpuppies and Onion Rings. All perfectly fried and wonderfully seasoned. We ended with an order of the Beignets which were good not great. Next time (and there will be a next time) will probably go with the bread pudding instead. The service was over the top great and made up for any of the simply good parts of the meal. Overall well worth the 30 minute drive from home but would love for them to open a location in Trussville or West Homewood so I could hear the bartender call my name as I walked in the door!

With all due respect I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I didn't like. Everything is over cooked. My hush puppy was pretty much a deep fried golf ball. Absolutely will not be coming back

Came here on a recommendation, food was fresh and great. The seafood Gumbo had seafood in each bite. The po-boy's French bread was soft and airy, and the shrimp were fried fresh. Sarah was great as well had great suggestions for it being my first time, and was managing FOH by herself during lunch. Impressed and will be back.

Been a while since I went to this place, in my memory the food was good. Today, meh- I had the catfish poboy combo with seafood gumbo. The poboy was slathered in a bit too much tartar sauce (or was it mayo?) and the gumbo was the most disappointing, a lot of rice and just didn't have that filé flavor I love with authentic gumbo. Oh, and my $15.99 lunch had $1 added on for a plastic cup of water. Might be a while before I return...

Never in my life have I tried to eat fries so salty with seasoning. Fish, Red Beans and Rice was on point though. The salt was unreal.

mud bugs were overcooked and tiny. even the sweet tea was questionable. nice decor though.

Some of the blandest ‘Cajun’ food I’ve ever had and ridiculously priced. Don’t confuse them with Crazy Cajun in Inverness, completely different experience.

It's a decent place to eat and the food is good. Over several visits I've noticed they're a little slow on getting your food ordered and on the table even when there aren't many customers but I'll continue eating there in the future but not when in a hurry lol

I have come here before many years ago. But I believe it was under a different name. Or I could just be flat out wrong. But I always hear about is they get their French Bread shipped from New Orleans. Which is always a must for me to order a po-boy. Maybe its the water, maybe its the sea level or maybe that just now how to do it better down there. So when a place up here gets it, I am always intrigued. So I ordered delivery for the family. We got po-boys for the reason I listed about. I got the oyster and everyone else got the shrimp. It was really good. They only complaint I would have is that it still isn't stuffed to the gills with seafood like the ones down in the crescent city. But trust me, I know that seafood costs here are exponentially more. And they still stock it more than some places. Overall, I want to come here in person again since it has been so long. See y'all soon!

Caldwell Mill location. AEmployees masked properly. Tables closed off to Social distance. Sanitizer readily available.

We went to the Pelham location many moths ago and loved it, however subsequent visits to all of the other locations and were exceedingly disappointed. Oysters were small and very overcooked. Prices have gone through the sky. Service was bearable. We will not spend hard earned $ for food that is not prepared with care.

The catfish was delicious, and the hush puppies nice and spicy. Great time and very reasonable, too.
