What a NEAT place this is. The lighting and decor were very eclectic and we ended up walking the whole restaurant to check it all out. We had an appetizer dip, a soup, and a pizza and were not left disappointed. It was all homemade and had excellent flavor. Service was good for sure. If you are hungry, and are in this part of town, this is your stop for certain!

Walked in and curly hair gentlemen was polite, host was polite as well. It was when the server came where things became unsatisfying, she did not greet us. She poured the water and walked away. The waitress was talking very minimal and in a low tone. We were excited to order the drinks and it took a little for the drinks to come. When they arrived I was not given the option for vodka or gin I was just given gin. Me and fiancés drink were very strong. Half hour passes and our main entrees came, I ordered Banh Mi Sandwich which was very dry and my fiancé got the Greens Pie Tartes Du Jour. we would tell our waitress thank you and we wouldn't get a you're welcome back. Our waitress had short hair and glasses. 2 stars because we liked the restaurants Decor!

Chez lulu worked hard to continue to serve food during 2020 and beyond. Sometimes it was to go but I appreciated their efforts to pivot. Love the pizzas they serve at night and the desserts are always great!

One of the most quaint, cozy, comfortable places I've ever been. Service was impeccable and knowledgeable. We went simple with quiche, salad and soups. Everything they have is homemade by them or sister next door Continental Bakery. Call ahead for hours as they are not open every day.

Chez Lulu is one of my favorite restaurants. It’s such a gem for Birmingham and is the perfect atmosphere for a date. Very cozy and laid back but with a dash of sophistication and cool.

Worst pizza in Birmingham. Very little cheese, cold and small. Could be better with more effort.

I want to say that the setting itself is worthy of 5 stars. I went there for dessert and had the caramel bourbon cheesecake. It had the BEST caramel sauce I had ever tasted. The cheesecake itself was amazing, rich, and fluffy. The toasted crust was perfect. After that, I bought some of their sourdough bread to take home. It was fantastic paired with a little bit of olive oil. And I also purchased some of their macaroons. I had the waitress just pick some random flavors for me to try and none of them disappointed. I will gladly tell everyone I know about this place. Next time I’ll get try and get a meal. The staff was SUPER friendly!

I cannot say enough extraordinary things about this divine cuisine. The complimentary sourdough bread & dipping oils was phenomenal. I had the sweet potato & ginger soup - the amount of ginger was perfection. Even the house salad was so incredible. I had a panini which was so much more delicious than I expected out of a sandwich. Then came dessert *cue the choir singing* The seasonal peach pie w/ ice cream was great; but the crust was what was extraordinary. It was layered dough, baked to a sweet crisp. What a wonderful restaurant and authentic vibe we thoroughly enjoyed.

Hassle to do business with them. Sign on door said “open” yet it was locked. Nothing explaining where to order or how to eat there. I tried the door to the bakery next door but was told there were too many people (5) inside and had to leave. The only “welcoming” signs outside were about mask requirements, which don’t even align with CDC guidance. I decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Owners need to make a choice between welcoming customers back and scaring them away with overly aggressive COVID protocols and directives that aren’t in place at competing restaurants in the area.

I can't gush enough at how grateful we are for our experience at Chez Lu Lu today, on Mother's Day 2021. We were at a different establishment earlier and before even ordering we were made to feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable that we left. As soon as we walked up to Chez Lu Lu, our already fragile nerves somewhat frayed due to Mother's Day being difficult for us, we were made to feel so welcome and appreciated that it completely felt like a blessing and we are already so grateful to be here. So far, our drinks and eats have been so welcoming and delicious. We are beside ourselves to be here. Thank you Chez Lu Lu. Thank you Phyllis and Rebecca

D*** restaurant. Everybody can get a Covid vaccine now, but they're still closed for Covid.
