Chris Z's (Catering Only)

I had the big nasty and it was great. Today was my first time trying this place.

So my experience was different this time. I ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich with fries and drink, and my boyfriend a hotdog. The total was 17.85 and the philly was not good whatsoever. The meat was dry and there was barely any meat and definitely barely any onions or bell peppers which is what makes a philly cheese steak sandwich. I am posting the pictures in the picture section and you will see that it's not worth even 4 bucks. Need to have a talk with the cook because my first experience was great, but that was breakfast so maybe that is why. My boyfriend's hotdog was a joke. It looked like a gas station hotdog but way worse. My 8 yr old can make a hotdog better then that. It was sloppy, thrown together without any care in the world. Bread was soggy and didn't taste good at all. Only reason I gave 3 stars is because of the first experience I had, but I can say they will only have one more chance to undo this bad experience. Also the lady at the cashier had an attitude because she couldn't understand that we didn't want a combo for the hotdog, only the hotdog. I would like a refund if at all possible because this meal wasnt worth the acid reflux that I'm getting from the overly greasy fries and hard meat from the phillysub.

Nice little gem of a place! Friendly folks and great prices. Picking up my order couldn't be easier. Try the sauce on a burger - it's great.

This was my 1st time eating here and it was great experience.. fast in and out process I had to cheese burger and u can tell they cook with love... my daughter had a hotdog with fries and she loved the fries and I did too.. only thing is they need more sitting room inside.. other than that everything was great

Chris Z's is a family owned restaurant across the street from St. Vincent's Hospital. The service and food are both excellent. For breakfast, we recommend the Big Nasty (or Little Nasty for the smaller appetites!) or an omelette. For lunch, the Z Cheeseburger is the way to go. You can dress it up with chili and bacon! If burgers aren't your style, chili cheese dogs are an excellent alternative. Enjoy!

No lie...this is the best breakfast in the city..the big nasty is worth every penny..what's better is the service they ALWAYS treat the customers with the utmost courtesy and respect..also dont forget a sweet tea...better than milos

I absolutely love Chris Z's! I've had breakfast there several times and have never been disappointed. Their dish called "The Big Nasty" is the best breakfast dish served in Birmingham in my humble opinion. The only problem I have with it is it's size. It's a huge amount of food, but it's so good I can't stop eating until it's all gone and then I'm so stuffed I can't hardly move. I like to think I have self control, but "The Big Nasty" owns me!
