I took Lindsay there for her birthday dinner last night, just the two of us. The weight staff was impeccable! Both our entrées were incredible! I had the grouper piccata and it was amazing! Chucks never disappoints! Make sure you make your reservation!
Celebrating our 18th anniversary. We have eaten here several times and it was very good. This time my husband and I ordered the stuffed shrimp. Definitely not what we had expected. The shrimp was very small in size, like a grocery store size small. Plenty of crabmeat and bacon but lacked in flavor. Neither of us finished our meal.
I dine here on occasion and I have to say it is a great place to take a first date as well. The experience will guarnatee you a second date, well as long as your personality concurs with the meal experience of course lol....anyway, the atmosphere and food here is superb!! A bit pricey maybe but the experience is worth the extra cost!! Give it a try you won't be disappointed!!
Always great!
TRULY RECOMMEND this seafood restaurant. Their dishes were superb and bursting with amazing flavors. Everything was cooked accordingly and perfectly. The prices are really reasonable from the standards of their cuisines. Highly recommend this spot for a quality date.
Chucks Fish in BHAM is absolutely fantastic! From sushi to steak you cannot go wrong in this place. So so good! My go to on HWY 280!
We loved the one in Montgomery but it had not reopened yet (shutdown due to a fire), so we were excited to discover and try this one while in Birmingham for the evening. It was nice, but we agreed, we liked the Montgomery location and food better. Although, the spring rolls were delicious! The sauce over the fried green tomatoes was excellent but the panko breading on the tomatoes was a little bland. Neither of us were that hungry so we shared the fried shrimp entree. The shrimp and slaw were both delicious, but the ceasar dressing on my husband's salad was more unique (in a not-so-good way) than a traditional ceasar dressing. The fries were excellent; hushpuppies, NOT! They were just there; they didn't add much to the dish and were more on the bland side and like an afterthought. The waitress seemed pretty sure that the Montgomery location would be re-opening the following day. Can't wait to go back to our favorite spot to dine in Montgomery. Hopefully, it's still just as good as it was...?

We reserved our table online and found that easy enough. This was our first time dining here and found this place through word of mouth. It was a very great choice. Everyone with our group said The food was “Great” from the Shrimp & Chorizo (pictured) the Seafood Plater to the sushi rolls. Lastly we had Awesome service from ((Judson D)) who took care of all our needs. Thanks for that.

We came with family from out of state. Hot room temp on last 2 visits. Staff said " AC not working properly " and offered to close drapery to decrease temp. Ambience poor. Server appeared stressed and overwhelmed. Unpleasant/ unfriendly. Server disappeared several times. Noticeable irritation when we requested to go box again that was not provided with initial request.
Chucks fish was a favorite for many years. Last few visits Not up to the level of service Chucks fish is known for providing. So disappointed.

First time at Chuck’s. The hosts were too young and they fidgeted awkwardly before showing us to our seat. Tabletop was sticky/greasy. They forgot the appetizer (and it came after the entrees.) Wife and I ordered salads. These had been prepped and refrigerated either early in the day or the day before. This suggests Chuck’s is either short handed - or they’ve stopped caring. In any event, the salads weren’t good. The entrees (grouper, shrimp) were prepared indifferently, and certainly didn’t taste “fresh from the dock”. Both the fish and the shrimp were over cooked.
Overall, Chuck’s is an Applebees experience - except of course, the prices are reflective of a far more solicitous and caring establishment. Which it isn’t.’

It was my first visit but it will not be my last. It was a pre-birthday celebration, and we wanted to try somewhere different. They did not disappoint. One of the menu items were a surprise. The Snapper Throats, we thought they would be like a filet, but they were nearly as large as a piece of fish. We enjoyed it. It seems as tho the fresh sushi is a hot menu item.
Vegetarian options: Salads and other items were available.
Parking: Parking close to restaurant. On the side or in front.
