This place is incredibly cozy and Beautifully sensual at the same time. Perfect place to get a lovely cup of coffee, a sweet treat, and watch the world meander by.

The new Owners have RUINED what was B’ham’s finest bakery for decades. You suck, 2025 Continental. Bye forever.

For the third and last time, I PRE-ORDERED & PRE-PAID for olive bread 2+ days in advance, as required, and for the THIRD and LAST time, when I showed up at 8:30 to pick them up, THEY HAD SOLD MY LOAVES.

B’ham, LET THIS PLACE FAIL, AND SOMEONE WILL SWOOP IN TO FILL OUR TUMMIES THE WAY THE PREVIOUS OWNER WOULD. Bye, Continental! Your quality has gone way down on your other items too, fyi.

I was really excited to try this bakery. Unfortunately, the pot de creme was made with coffee, and I didn't think to ask so I wasn't able to eat it. The palette was delicious! The sandwich was pretty basic and I didn't realize it wouldn't come with sauces. The sandwich bread was good though. I bought some other things too. The pies look fantastic!

I would probably come here again, but only for specific items. The pricing was pretty fair.

The person who served me seemed fairly impatient. Never having been there before, I wasn't sure how to order everything.

The shop isn't very newcomer friendly
All you could see was what they had on display even though they had drinks and sandwiches
They had three parts of a menu that was in very small font and if you didn't know they had something you didn't know we were there 20 minutes and just happened to overhear they had sandwiches
And had to ask for the sandwich menu because it wasn't on display
They have a website but it also wasn't on display so if you don't know you wouldn't know unless you just happened to look but even that it didn't have a list of drinks or the sandwiches and it looked to have been a couple of years out of date because they prices were wrong
A third of their baked goods were shortbread cookies
You also couldn't see prices for the bread

We were so thrilled to find this place on our 1 day road trip to Alabama. The Trans sticker on the door made us feel instantly at ease.
There was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. The pastries were so good, that we got back in line a second time. We bought some bread that was fabulous!
I wish, so much, that Memphis had something like this.
If you like Dunkin’ Donuts, this isn’t the place for you. Their pastries are made with real ingredients and love, not processed nonsense and machines.

A taste of Europe in the south. Many sweet treats and goodies to choose from. The double toasted sesame bagel with olive cream cheese was SO good.

Not worth the hype or the money. There was only one staff member who was personable and nice. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with no tomatoes and received one with extra tomatoes. The chicken salad itself was very dry and had no flavor, just slapped on some untoasted bread. My husband ordered a turkey and cheese on an everything bagel with no L&T and was given a hard bagel with once slice of cheese and once slice of turkey. Neither worth $11 a piece.

We ordered a dozen bagels, 6 everything and 6 garlic, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference in either because they were both so bland. I opted for the limebar over the lemon and it tasted like wet dog. The half wild sourdough loaf was the most mild sourdough I've had, I was unimpressed.

The final let down was the employee checking us out who didn't even look up from the POS. I asked for a bag and they didn't even look to see where I was, just shoved it out infront of my face. Reminded me of the same experience I had at their spot at Pepper Place; uninviting, unwelcoming, and unappealing.

$80 bucks for overhyped baked goods and less than adequate hospitality. Beautiful walk to and from the car though on a nice Saturday morning.

Cozy and very european bakery! The food tastes awesome and is very close to the original from Europe. Try the croissant! First ones we've seen in the US that actually deserve the name.

Beautiful, quiet place! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is phenomenal. If you're looking for a place like the bakery from Kiki's Delivery Service, this is the closest anyone will ever get :D

We were so pleased to find this lovely little bakery in Birmingham on our way to dropping our kid off for college at UofA (Roll, Tide!) It is so quaint and charming! The owner let us sample some of their local jams and a lemon-infused olive oil that was SO GOOD, we came back and bought another bottle to bring home and use in a polenta olive oil cake. All the treats are excellent and the ambiance is absolutely pleasant. Make sure you don't miss this tasty gem when you're in the area! Get an afternoon treat and sit under the umbrellas as you watch the world go by. Highly recommend.
