Went here a couple of months ago and forgot to leave my review. Best fried chicken I have had in years. I recently traveled across the southern United States getting what was highly rated fried chicken and none of it even compared to Craft's. Craft's chicken wasn't greasy, perfectly juicy, tender, and the flavor was off the charts. Reminded me of my Grandma's cooking. I was with my family so we all tried something different and everyone loved their food. The sauces were unique and delicious, especially the white sauce. Sampled the turkey chili, which I was apprehensive of but was absolutely delicious. Fantastic customer service as well. Restaurant was very clean too. Parking was easy for the UAB Birmingham area.

On 4/17/2025, I wanted to share my recent experience and express my disappointment. I was really excited to try Crafts on 7th for breakfast after seeing your posts on Instagram. I even brought two coworkers with me, eager to support a local business.
We arrived at 7:30 AM—your listed opening time—but the doors were locked. Despite the signage stating that you open at 7:30 and serve breakfast, no one let us in. I waited, peeked through the door, and even saw someone inside who looked directly at me but didn’t come to open the door. I also called twice, but both calls went to voicemail. After standing outside for 10 minutes, we left to find breakfast elsewhere.
About 10 minutes later, I received a call asking why I had called. I explained the situation, and the person said they were in the back. Still, if your hours say 7:30, customers should be able to enter at that time.
When I was asked if I’d like to place an order, I declined—we had already taken our business elsewhere. As someone in my third trimester, this was not only frustrating but also disappointing. I expected better service and professionalism.
I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and ensure future guests are welcomed during your posted hours.

This location is definitely not the same as the Mountain Brook location. The food and customer service were below average. They were just starting to serve lunch and my chicken fingers were cold. I allowed, who appeared to be someone in management, to feel the chicken finger because she didn’t seem to believe me. She said she would replace them but I waited and waited and finally went to the counter and they had been sitting there. I frequent the mountain brook location, but definitely won’t be returning to this one.

I ordered today for the first time and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be ordering again. The fried chicken breast and macaroni and cheese is amazing! 5 stars!
We are from out of town and didn’t realize they closed at 3. The staff was super nice and told us not to rush and enjoy. The best fried chicken and Greek salad! Will be back for sure!!

I ordered the simple chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken breast was the size of a chicken tender and was over cooked with no flavor and the fries were hard. I had enough bread leftover to make another sandwich because of the small amount of chicken that was on the sandwich. All for $10.95
