The karaoke host is awful and incredibly rude. There are tons of other places better for karaoke in town, Mom’s Basement to start.

I came here yesterday for my birthday. This was somewhere that offered karaoke and we wanted to go!As we get there, there’s two karaoke hostess that was running the system. They were beyond rude. Spoke about my friends as they were on stage, was rude whenever you would just ASK to sing. It’s just not the typical birmingham vibe. Anywhere you go, they are nice, sweet and considerate. The staff here just seemed annoyed they had to do their job. Wouldn’t recommend. There’s plenty of fun, hospitable spaces in birmingham- this is not one.

Bar will add extra tips, keep your receipts. Confirmed with my friends that went out with me that night. Will not be returning

The most genuinely good people you'll come across on a consistent basis. Hands down my favorite bar in Birmingham!

I always have enjoyed going to derby. But the karaoke emcee was extremely rude and confrontational to everyone that approached her (especially if you attempted to sign up more than once, like most do). Made the one reason we go to this bar extremely unenjoyable. I will not be going back as long as she is still the emcee. There are better establishments to spend your money
I have enjoyed going here for years until last Friday. The old lady behind the bar was terrible and rude. Her son told us to slap the side of the pool table if the balls didn’t come out and then she got mad when we did so. We informed her that he told us to and she said no he didn’t. She caused us to move our party of 12 people somewhere else. If I was the owner I would not be happy about losing 12 peoples business.

Used to be my favorite place to karaoke but the new person in charge is not very friendly. Probably won’t be coming back

The food here is amazing, my burger was great!! Chef Joseph has the perfect menu and is so talented. The place has a great local feel.

Legend has it that Paul "Bear" Bryant once urinated on the men's room floor here, after downing 3 quarts of brown liquor and smoking a half carton of Camel cigarettes.

Home away from home. Best bar and staff in Birmingham. Happy as ever to now have Chef Joseph (MJ’s @ the derby) throwing down in the kitchen. Not your normal dive bar grub. His heart goes into everything he does, you’ll be able to tell before you take your first bite. Swing through for great drinks, amazing food, play some pool, or sing your heart out!
