First time travelers to Birmingham, Edgar's is an amazing option for brunch. Apart from a convenient location near a few hotels, they are located throughout the city. Friendly service, great tasting baked goods and respectful prices. Try the chocolate rugelach it's phenomenal.

The food is way overpriced for what you get and the tip was requested before their service.
It might be a great bakery, but my first experience eating breakfast there was terrible. Food (eggs, bacon and potatoes) were cold and subpar. No apology, just a "Do you want them to remake it?".

Edgar’s Bakery not only has the best baked goods, salads and services, but they have a staff of honest and good people. I accidentally left my wallet with a lot of cards, cash and license needed for my travel. The employees did the right thing.
I will use Edgar’s stores.

How could I have missed this place on my last trip to Birmingham? I stopped for a quick lunch, which was wonderful, but what really blows your mind are the baked goods. Custom cakes, breads, sweets and seasonal items.

I've been here a couple times and it's always good. The workers are sweet and attentive and they have real coffee. The pastries are huge too and very yummy

I used to brag on Edgar’s King Cake being better than any back home in Louisiana. But the quality has unfortunately declined. The King Cakes are now flat and dry. Don’t waste your money on one. Buy a thumbprint cookie instead cause it’s the only thing lately hasn’t disappointed from there. Also the cinnamon rolls! But these King Cakes I received were a disgrace. I ordered them fresh and when I picked them up they were flat and looked old. The sugar topping was moist and sticking to the cellophane. Maybe reconsider your packaging method…?. Anyway I didn’t say anything because I was being them that afternoon to the birthday party. I was thinking they don’t look pretty but at least they’ll taste good. Big mistake! HUGE! They were wet and sticky on the outside and dry on the inside. Definitely won’t be bragging on Edgar’s for a while. Very disappointing to say the least. I don’t mind paying more for a King Cake but Edgar’s… you’re not worth it anymore. If you’re looking for a King Cake next year BHAM, just go to Publix or Winn Dixie cause it’ll be cheaper and taste better. And yes I was petty enough to break out the tape measure. ?
