I am never a stranger to purchasing cakes (strawberry) to be more specific from any Edgar's Bakery location. What made the score for the service low is mainly because I was taught it is rude and disrespectful to place change, or the receipt on the counter if my hand is available for it to be placed in. I could have responded to the younger lady at the counter, but I picked my items up and walked away.

Purchased six cupcakes for my son’s birthday from here, only to later discover they were super dry. Disappointed, I left a review regarding my purchase and was contacted by customer service to try to “make it right. “ Cue further disappointment. Was told that I could either be mailed a gift certificate for about $10 or be refunded for the two remaining uneaten cupcakes, which I would have to bring to one of their locations. No option to be refunded for the entire purchase. With no desire to purchase anything else, I opted for the refund and stopped by another location to return the two cupcakes. The employee who helped me was nice and agreed that the cupcakes were dry and offered to give me two more to replace those. She confirmed that I would still be getting a refund from the main office as well. Reluctantly, I accepted her offer but have yet to see the refund hit my account days later.

First time travelers to Birmingham, Edgar's is an amazing option for brunch. Apart from a convenient location near a few hotels, they are located throughout the city. Friendly service, great tasting baked goods and respectful prices. Try the chocolate rugelach it's phenomenal.

The food is way overpriced for what you get and the tip was requested before their service. It might be a great bakery, but my first experience eating breakfast there was terrible. Food (eggs, bacon and potatoes) were cold and subpar. No apology, just a "Do you want them to remake it?".
