They lost the reservations and wouldn’t accommodate even after showing the email confirmation. Disappointed

Great facility for meetings. The location is perfect for the greater Birmingham area. Staff are very helpful and professional. Pros: Ample room to hold meetings and network in the various lounges. Great for high dollar networking, sports drafts, reality tv people, formal dinners and business deals are being made here. Hidden jewel and uppity suburbs nearby. Great TVs in the lounge and excellent breakfast bar. The rooms are good. Cons: the lunch/dinner meals for meetings are pricey for the quality of food served. Great meeting place but the rooms are overpriced.

This was the worst customer service we have ever experienced!! We had a reservation for Saturday and Sunday night for a girls volleyball tournament. Called the hotel the Sunday before we were set to check in to add Friday night. The woman placed us on a brief hold to check availability. She came back and confirmed she had added Friday night to our reservation. Upon checking in late Friday night we were barely greeted by Joy. She proceeded to tell us very rudely that we did NOT have a reservation and they had no availability. We explained that we spoke to someone on Sunday and they confirmed it had been changed adding Friday to our reservation. She immediately started questioning who we talked with… when we said we didn’t know she responded… they always tell you their name when they answer the phone. I never thought in 1 million years I would have to write down the name of the person that made my reservation. I had no idea who it was. Her whole demeanor was very rude and defensive. She finally told us that there was one room available and offered it to us at double the cost of what our other two nights were. We asked to speak to a manager on duty. Another lady stepped up to the desk. I think her name was Maykla. She told us she was the manager on duty and also did nothing to help us. She just stood there while Joy proceeded to speak to us in a very unprofessional manner.. After walking away in tears, because we honestly did not know what we were going to do. my father who was already there came down from his room to try to help with the situation. When we realized we had no other option we rented the room for the night. We were offered no complimentary water, the room obviously was not ready for us. There were no towels in one of the bathrooms. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms was falling off. There was no shampoo in one of the bathrooms. There was barely any water coming out of one of the bathroom sinks. After the inconvenience of having to switch rooms for the next two nights. We went to the front desk where Adam helped us. He was very pleasant and professional, unlike Joy and the manager of the night before. Our biggest complaint is that we were treated as if we were wrong when we did call the Sunday night before to try to add a day to our reservation and were told it was added. and we feel like it was not our fault that it was not done even after we were told that it was. My suggestion to Embassy suites is to train your employees to be kinder. And have better customer service. When a situation like this occurs you should make it right and not charm double the price regardless of what room you have available.

We love love love this hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet. The bathroom has good water pressure and a fan. The breakfast on weekdays is good and weekends is great. You can have a custom omelet made all week. The staff is always friendly. It's on the pricey side, but we've never had a bad stay!

The location was prime. It’s close to all major shopping and restaurants. The hotel has excellent service from the checkin process to food service. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon reception was excellent.

The two room suites are spacious and very comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The complimentary bar has one of the best bartenders I’ve encountered. D is a great bartender and he makes sure everyone receives just what they ordered. The made to order omelets for breakfast is also a crowd pleaser. We will stay with them again.

We stayed overnight for a nearby family event. The hotel appears to be going thru minor updates (paint, new flooring, some new furniture). Our room had no carpet which was nice for someone who suffers from allergies. It was very clean and nicely appointed. Mattress was comfy and the thermostat was easy to adjust. We experienced a quiet stay and a nice breakfast the next morning.

I was here just for the one night for business. Room was nice and staff was ok. There were several groups here at same time, so bar and lobby was over ran that night. Meeting rooms were good. Over all good stay.

This hotel used to be a go to when we were in that area. It is now run down, dirty & the staff are absolutely terrible & rude. Upon check in the guy was so busy on his phone it was like I interrupted him. The evening waiter in the lounge was so rude, the room was extremely dirty & dusty & run down. The check out lady was just as bad will not waste my money going back there!

This hotel was amazing from the moment we checked in - to walking into a very clean room-- to breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend this hotel. The location is great!! Very Safe. It is very close to restaurants, Walmart, mall and movie theater.

I picked this hotel for my family and I to stay a couple of nights while passing through Birmingham on our way to the Gulf Coast. We were visiting relatives who live nearby in Hoover. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel. The staff are all nice, especially the ladies working in the breakfast area and the housekeeping staff. I really like the room layout with two entrances to the bathroom and having a ceiling fan in the bedroom was a nice touch. I picked a room at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor because I thought we'd have easy access to the parking garage. I was wrong. You can go out the door to the parking garage, but you can't get back in that way with a room key (even thought a sign there says you can which think is an old sign). My goal was to make it easy to load and unload our car. We still accomplished that with my kid standing by the door to let me back in so I didn't have to walk all the way around the building. Perhaps the biggest issue was our room, being on the 2nd floor, was right beside some rooftop lights that illuminate the entire front of the hotel. This makes the room very bright and the window shades do very little for this. I woke up multiple times thinking it was daylight outside only to realize it was the early hours of the morning. The hotel definitely needs some blackout curtains for rooms by those lights rather than just one shade that doesn't seal out enough light when the window is that close to such intense lighting. So, other than definitely getting a higher floor (probably facing the back of the building... which is a hillside), I'd say this hotel is a great place to stay and will stay there again if in the area.
