Food was decent! The steak was perfectly cooked and the peppercorn pan sauce was so good with the mashed potatoes. The chicken liver salad was great as well. The breading on the chicken liver with the bacon vinaigrette was a great combination. The half shell oysters were nothing special but still quite tasty. The only disappointment was the rack of lamb. Cute little spot in Cahaba heights. Drinks excellent- crab claws delicious. We sat on the patio and were offered a personal fan since it was warm out. However, another patron walked by our table upset we didn’t share our fan with the whole patio. It seems they ran out of fans for how many tables were sat outside and she didn’t like that. I got a pasta dish with shrimp on it. Honestly, it was a 2 or 3 out of 5 stars. Nothing worse than an expensive dish needing salt and pepper....
My husband and I went to the Foodbar for date night. Upon being seated at the smallest table in the restaurant, we could hardly hear each other or the waitress. The environment was very loud. It probably didn't help how close each table is set up to the next. With that said, the service was good but the star of the show is definitely the food. We had oysters on the half shell for apps.
