I visited GPB while my husband was a patient at UAB. It has a great atmosphere and the bartender filled my growler to the Top! (I don't like it when places are in a hurry and don't account for the head.) My glass of BP&J was outstanding. There is a cute little food truck there as well, although I didn't sample the food.

Beer is great but hotbox food is another story. Depending when you go they might just give you fried jalapeños and batter when lemongrass fried chicken is ordered. I thought chicken was supposed to be main ingredient. Just call the dish batter and fries instead of lemongrass chicken.

Driving through Birmingham (and spending the night) I was happy to find Good People Brewing open at 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday.Parking was not the easiest thing though there is a pay lot on the block (I was towing a trailer so, added difficulty).Huge open area inside with a large outdoor seating area. Since it was only 80°F and the music was too loud in the completely empty indoors, I headed outside. Same music here but ambient sounds softens it some.Bartender was professionally friendly, and started pulling samples while asking if there was anything I wanted to try. Sadly, first 3 pulls were styles I don't like. Slow down, man! Once I was able to actually tell him my preferences, I settled on Strongman & the Cherry Almond sour. Very pleased with these two.
