Great American Cookies

Horrible customer service. Went in at 7:40 P.M. on a Friday evening, when the posted closing hours were 9:00 P.M., to have the employees sitting at a table on their phones tell me that they were closed. Putting away all of the ice cream and cookies and closing nearly an hour and half before posted closing hours is ridiculous. Management at this store either isn’t involved enough to be aware of their employees’ laziness or simply doesn’t care about their customers enough to do anything about it.

Arrived at 715pm on a Thursday looking to get one scoop of ice cream to go for my son. Apparently they put all the ice cream away an hour before they close so there was to be a 30 minute wait for it to “defrost”. So the hours are obviously incorrect.

I wish I could put zero stars. Walked in to get my son a cookie. Woman working didn’t even acknowledge us. We stood at the counter forever and she just continued doing whatever she was doing. Couldn’t even be bothered to tell us she would be with us in a moment. Felt like she didn’t want our business .. So we left.

Got there right at open and the employees were walking in with me the cookies were leftover from the day before and were super hard I thought they got there early and baked them fresh for the day or at least they used too haven’t been there in awhile probably won’t go back

30 some dollars for 12 cookies don’t get me wrong. The cookies are good but damn $30. And said for the larger cookies, there will be a up charge.

I made a huge mistake & put the wrong date for my cake pickup. I did not complain, it was absolutely my error. the woman working dropped everything she was doing and made my son's birthday cake with zero hesitation. in tears I told her she didn't have to do that for me and she said with a smile "yes I do. it's someone's birthday today & you can't come home without a cake" I hope this precious woman is blessed ten folds in her life my little boy doesn't know how special she made me feel like he is! we have always ordered our cakes from this location & everyone is always SO nice and helpful, but they have a life long customer with me! highly recommend them for cookie cakes and ice cream no matter how big or small!

I went in here a couple months ago and asked for a double doozie. These ladies had no gloves on. One grabbed a cookie with her un-gloved hand and laid it in her palm, squeezed icing onto it and then smashed it together with another cookie, again completely ungloved. I could not believe my eyes. Completely disgusting. Other Great American Cookies stores DO NOT do anything without gloves and proper hygiene. I hope they are being properly inspected.

I was at the Great American cookies on Gadsden highway. The staff was very unconcerned & uncaring.I went to the ladies room and there was no toilet paper nor any paper towels (and we ladies have to have at least one of these),I walked out & told the four staff members,that was just standing around, there was a need for the items. They just looked at each other, not acknowledging that I had spoken. Finally one of them gave me 2 paper towels to use.I will not be returning!!!

They've made it where you now cannot order online. So I sent my husband there one day to see if he could get anything for that day. He came back and said they were very rude and they told him that you have to make an order, but he couldn't do it there. If I can't make an order in person or online then what? I don't think it's the company but instead the employees that work there.

Customer service is seriously lacking. $27 wasted.

Attempted to get cookies from American Cookies. As I was backing into a parking spot, a woman, who I later realized was an employee, pulled up behind me while honking her horn and blocked me from backing up completely into the parking spot. Mind you, there were plenty of parking spots available. In my mind, I thought she had an emergency and so I decided to move. Then I watched her walk in and go behind the counter to work. Very rude and unprofessional as I was a customer parking near the door. I will not return to this location again.

Cookies are my favorite when it comes to desserts besides ice cream cakes too but I got a red velvet cookie, a cookie with mixing on top and one of the big m&m cookies, one of the best in Trussville!

They get 5 stars just for the amazing smell walking in the door. But the employees are very friendly & cookies always fresh.
