hello cute new coffee/chocolate shop in birmingham you are my new favorite thing! Grounds just opened in December and I highly recommend giving this place a visit! Grounds has such a cute aesthetic, allowing you to shop or lounge around (on fun sofas might I add) while drinking coffee and eating chocolate. Literally what more could you ask for The owners are super kind and overall ambiance of this spot is 10/10 :D Also, all of the drinks they serve have either almond or oat milk and the pastries they have are all gluten free!

I highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of a unique and socially responsible coffee + chocolate experience. I am already looking forward to my next visit and can confidently say that I would come back a million times. The atmosphere is incredibly vibey and welcoming! What sets this place apart is its shared space with a clothing store, making it a one-of-a-kind destination where I can sip on a delicious brew while browsing beautiful clothes. Both the coffee shop and the clothing store share a commitment to selling ethically made products, which aligns perfectly with my values as a conscious consumer. It's refreshing to see businesses that prioritize sustainability and ethics while delivering exceptional quality. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft, adding a personal touch to every visit. The menu offers a diverse selection of drinks, ensuring there's something for everyone.Cheers to a fantastic addition to the local scene!

I’m a little late posting from the opening night of Grounds but I wanted to say that this spot is a VIBE. I had the French Vanilla Latte and it was so good! The space is so nice and welcoming. They have games to play and cozy seating. They have chocolate also and who doesn’t love a little bonbon for the road!? Please stop by and support this small business! The owner is a gem and he has created a space full of warmth and love through community, coffee, and chocolate!

Barista was friendly. Atmosphere was nice, a bit strange because the space is shared with a clothing store, but nice. However 3 stars because I ordered a hot cocoa and my husband ordered a mocha and it’s pretty obvious that they put twice the chocolate in mine and no chocolate at all in his. I’m sure they would have fixed it if we didn’t leave straight away, though. Also they only have oat or almond milk - no dairy. That’s their choice and it’s totally fine, but they didn’t tell us until after we had ordered and paid for our drinks. My husband probably wouldn’t have ordered anything if he had known up front.

Amazing atmosphere, great coffee, delectable chocolates, and did I mention there also a boutique inside? One of the cutest coffee shops I've been to. Support local and try Grounds!

Grounds is the BEST! The shop is so cute and vibey, and the coffee is so freakin delicious! Their birthday cake bonbon is so yummy too. Also, I got to meet the shop owners and they are the kindest and most genuine people. 11/10 experience!!

YOU MOCHA ME CRAZY! Grounds, the newest coffee shop in down town area of Birmingham. Located on second avenue north right next to Bamboo on 2nd, is a fabulous and truly brew-tiful oasis. Formally known as Honeycreeper Chocolate, Grounds shares the same overall aesthetic and charm. The coffee menu is a decent size with lots of syrup option to choose from. Though if coffee is not up your alley they also offer hot chocolate as well as a new weekly mouse flavor each week. Sharing their space with a boutique not only gives customers the opportunity to check out two businesses at once, but also heightens the overall experience for customers visiting the shops. I ordered a salted caramel oat milk latte and it was fabulous. I needed that as a mid day pick me up and it really did help. Was not overly sweet, so you could taste both the coffee and the syrup. I feel a lot of other coffee shops could learn a thing or two about from this coffee shop. Most places make their drinks way too sweet so all you can taste is sugar, while others don't add nearly enough. Bravo Grounds for meeting in the middle where others tend to fail. If you are looking for a coffee pick me up and it is past the 2pm mark, when a lot of other coffee shops in the area are closed, I highly suggest stopping into Grounds. They are open until 6pm Monday through Friday. Bonbons and mouse are great pairings with your coffee, so why not treat yourself to come thing sweet!

Tried out the new GROUNDS coffee shop located inside Basic in Downtown Birmingham, AL. First of all, the shop is SUCH a vibe. Fancy, comfy couches and chairs with tons of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows. I ordered a salted caramel latte, and it was perfection. Normally, salted caramel can be pretty sweet, but this one had it to where you could still taste the coffee, which I loved! I was able to get some work done with their WiFi (just ask for the password!). Super great staff, delicious coffee, and a comfy remote working space. You'll want to add this to your list!
