Dinner was great ...everything about it. Only drawback was there happened to be a wedding there that night, so access to getting there was major problem as apparently that was same time as beginning of wedding festivities. Leaving was no issues, so all in all, the initial issues were quickly forgotten with our wonderful meal and super friendly waitress.

I invited my team for breakfast. The waiter Andrew was awesome. The food presentation, the amount of food, the taste was delicous. My team asked to do it again in the same place. I would recommeded it.

Does not have breakfast menu listed online, only option was the breakfast buffet. Warning: this buffet is $60 a person! More than shocked to get the bill. Buffet was average, with some items out. Coffee or juice not included. Wildly overpriced

I ordered the hush puppies and the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The menu items were misleading as the added protein indicates there would be six grilled shrimp and only five came with the meal. The menu listed cornbread croutons for the salad and they were regular, tasteless croutons that came from a bag. The pimiento cheese hush puppies were regular hush puppies sitting on a small schmear of cheese. The menu indicated local bacon but there was no hint of bacon and the batter on the inside seemed undercooked but exterior bordered on over fried.

They didn't have an actual brunch menu and only a so-so buffet that cost $59. The website made it seem like we would have other options. Made reservations for me and my wife not knowing this. Ending up spending $150+ on what was basically a continental breakfast. Very disappointing.

Reservation didn't specify buffet. Buffet is $59 pp. Now, I love a buffet! But no carving station- all hot hot dishes unimaginative and not even mediocre at best. Salmon- no accompaniments offered. Presentation and menu was basic with no embellishments. We should have been impressed- Sunday buffet is usually a time for hotels to shine. What a disappointment . It's our second bad experience- last time as overnight guests. Grand Bohemian presents an ambitiously hip atmosphere. It strives to be high end and charges for it. With this high-end atmosphere you'd expect service to match, but sadly-no. As we left my husband said to never bring him here again. We would have had a better experience at Waffle House.

I was completely disappointed with this experience. I booked this over the Christmas holidays for my family. I spent close to 1K for this experience. I expected to have each of us cooking with hands on experience for this price and per the advertisement. Instead we observed the entire time and didn't even have seating for all of us. We waited over 2 hours watching someone else cook, talk to attendees on the other side of the room, and have a meal that was mediocre. I was completely bummed outr family did not have what was advertised... (hands on/ interactive). We would have had a better time going across the street to Charbar for not even half the price and a more memorable experience. . I would NOT recommend anyone waste their time and money. This was so disappointing. and I'll never get my money back!

Was underwhelmed unfortunately. Went on a very calm night, so the kitchen was by no means overwhelmed. Definitely do not think the food was anything special— probably could have found a better salad and steak at many nearby restaurants (and have!). Would not return unless staying at the hotel and trying to avoid leaving the property.

Habitat is a hidden gem, even though it is in a boutique hotel in Mountain Brook. The service is excellent. You can almost always get a table. (They are on Open Table.) And the food is excellent. A bit restrictive and below average dessert options, but the overall menu is great with outstanding apps, salads, entrees and sides. Highly recommend, just settle for a great meal before dessert.

They made my 86 year old mother- in -law feel very special when they brought out a perfectly sized birthday cake for her during her birthday lunch. The noise level was minimal! We picked this restaurant because of its elegant , warm , welcoming atmosphere, its good food, and attentive staff .

We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary and wanted a special place for a nice meal. We were allowed to pick our table and choose a table for two outside. The weather was great and the view was nice. It was much quieter outside than inside and it was a perfect place for a quiet romantic dinner. The Maitre d' was great at welcoming us and making sure we had a special time by offering us two glasses of champagne to help celebrate our special occasion, which was noted on our reservation. We ordered the pimento cheese hushpuppies appetizer, which were great! Also ordered blackened grouper and the tenderloin filet. Both were cooked to perfection and plenty for two people. We appreciate all the staff at the restaurant for making this a celebratory experience!!!

Dinner for group of 4. Saturday night but restaurant not crowded. Bartenders did great. Then we sat for dinner. Worst waiter ever. Horrible service. NY strip steak was more like a really cheap sirloin. Cool ambience but overall highly disappointing for our group. Advice: visit for a drink but skip the dinner.

The server was sweet and did a decent job. The menu is descriptive and enticing however, the food was just mediocre. The grits were like rubber, the beef quality was sub-standard and the greens tasted as if they were out of a can. I'm curious as to what is actually farm to table, maybe the fried green tomatoes were but definitely not the other vegetables. Saw many bottles/items in the kitchen area that can be bought off the grocery shelf versus straight from the farm as perceived. We even gave it a second try for breakfast and felt it could have been better. Unfortunately, I feel there are much better options in the area for dining. We only dined here because it is adjacent to the hotel and convenience. We will definitely seek out other options on our next stay at the Grand Bohemian.

Beautiful location, Sparrow, our waitress was awesome. the food was unfortunately not edible. The entrees came out at different times, mine came in about 10 mins after everyone else received theirs. My steak was rubbery, a dinner party member's filet was great, but unfortunately I guess I had a case of entrée envy, as my NY Strip was shoe leather. The black forest cake was dry, and the crème Brule tasted like scrambled eggs. i would go back to have a drink, but not eat anything, Again, the wait staff was amazing, the kitchen was beyond sub-par.

Taking our cue from Habitat's webpage, we made a breakfast reservation to help celebrate my wife's Birthday “at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook's signature restaurant” with its “deliciously fresh invitation to feed your spirit.” Overall, the experience was very unfortunate; a surprisingly disappointing experience and a waste of $75. There wasn't a pleasant welcome from a disinterested hostess. I suppose I expected a tablecloth. Coffee cup still had visible rings inside from previous use. No coaster or napkin under sweating water glasses. The server was nice but inattentive to detail, even though the restaurant wasn't busy; only three other guests were seen. Twice, hot water for two teas wasn't nearly hot enough. Spoons were provided after the second pots but not until requested. The buffet food was terrible. For instance, by the time of our 8:45 reservation, biscuits under the heat lamp were completely dry and hard. Small selection of pastries were dry as well. The oatmeal was so congealed the ladle could not be pulled out of the mass. Potatoes were also rather dry and past their best. Sausage gravy had developed a skin and separated. The dry biscuits made the combination unappetizing. My omelet and my wife's waffle were alright. The juxtaposition between webpage claims and reality were amazing. I'm sorry to give such a bad review but I hope it helps create a better end result. Even though my wife is a retired Southern Living Magazine editor, we are not over critical or unforgiving, but we were terribly disappointed and sorry to have wasted the Birthday experience and the money.
