Hotel Indigo Birmingham Five Points S - Uab, an IHG Hotel

The girl at the front desk charged my credit card immediately upon check-in even after my husband says, we want to pay with a different credit card.
The room was freezing. My husband calls the front desk and the front desk advised him the thermostat is controlled by the front desk. He goes down to the front desk to get a blanket. He is told the manager locks the linen closet at night. The bed clearly had a lump in the mattress. The front desk was advised.
The next morning the poor service continued.The woman who took our order advised me she made the coffee and flavored it herself. I asked for cream only. Powdered creamer was not what I expected. Yuck! Her attitude toward other people who came in for breakfast was the same rude service we received. Do yourself a favor, don’t stay here.

I recently traveled to Birmingham for work the first person to greet me was parking valet Marci at the Indigo Hotel in Birmingham, AL. She was kind, courteous and the service was prompt and professional; The convenience of having my car parked for me at the end of my work day was fantastic, but she went above and beyond in remembering that I leave early sometimes before 6am so after she parks my car in the evening she returns my key so I have them first thing in the morning so I won't be late which inturn made my stays even more enjoyable. I Highly recommend their valet service for anyone visiting the hotel! Ask for Marci!!!

The Indigo is a nice hotel in a fabulous location. The valet, Marci is exceptional. She was so kind, polite, concerned and hospitable. An employee like Marci is a treasure and an asset to any organization.

My five-star review was primarily due to the exceptional staff. Walter, the valet, set the tone with his outstanding service. Given the challenges of parking in downtown Birmingham, opting for the hotel's valet service proved worthwhile. My room's cleanliness and amenities were consistently maintained thanks to Angie from housekeeping. Throughout my stay, Rere and Charlea provided friendly assistance around the clock. Although I only visited the bar/restaurant once, the attendant's warm hospitality left a lasting impression.
My stay was 3 due to a family emergency but I enjoyed the stay so much, I booked an additional night to just relax.

Walkability: Great options for food, drinks and essentials in short walking distance.

Only problem we had was with lack of parking. Really only valet as safe option and it was $40/night. Nice rooms and clean. Great location.

The staff here was so pleasant. It was a girl's trip, we travel a lot and sometimes we need a in city hotel. We stayed the weekend downtown due to the Magic City Classic and this hotel was the ideal location. Everything about our suite was what we needed. I will definitely stay here again. The valet employee Marci was AWESOME and were an AMAZING employee at the Birmingham downtown location.

I recently had a wonderful experience with the parking valet Marci at the Indigo Hotel in Birmingham, AL. The service was prompt and professional; the staff greeted me warmly and efficiently took care of my vehicle. I appreciated their attention to detail and the way they handled my car with care. The convenience of having my car parked for me made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend their valet service for anyone visiting the hotel!

I will never stay at this hotel or any Indigo Hotel again. Upon checking in and arriving to my room, I noticed my room door was able to be pushed open from the outside. The door could not latch or lock. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and promptly got me a new room. As I attempted to open that door, I was unable to get inside the room due to the door latch being activated. Someone was inside this room. On top of that the peep hole allowed you to see directly into the room. I went back to the front desk and was informed that room should be empty and the police were called to remove the individual(s) inside. As the cliche goes, the third time is the charm. I would not refer to this room as a charm, but I was accepting bare minimum at this point. The door locked and there were no unwelcome individuals inside. Aside from these issues, the location did not feel safe. After my arrival, I learned there was a shooting right outside the hotel doors that left four people dead just a couple of weeks prior to my stay.

Just a great experience at this hotel. From the valet, front desk, rooms, decor, etc. As a hotelier I can say this team cares and is well trained. Keep up the great work here.

This hotel is in a great location in Five Points and has a gym, which was nice for a hotel this size. The hotel is older and could use some updates however. Our room was unlocked and able to be pushed open upon arrival. There was a sticky puddle in the room when we checked. The phone did not work in the room and the room did not have a refrigerator. The room was also musty and the bathroom was not exceptionally clean.

Nice but small. It is very well located. However, the vallet seems to be expensive, as is the only parking option available besides parking on the street, if you are lucky of course and find a spot.

Nice stay clean room older but very large, great service. Parking attendant Ms Marcel was very prompt and offed friendly service will surely stay again and use valet parking
