The food was good especially the pulled pork and the brisket. I liked the sauce offerings. I enjoyed the sides as they were different from the sweet ones normally served with BBQ in this area. I really appreciated the passion of the pitmaster, he was so into the Que it made the meal for me. It is a small venue, and the menu interesting. This is Texas style BBQ.

Kind of hidden so it was quiet. Which was perfect. Brisket nachos are great and the staff is friends. Jewel the dog will greet you when you walk in.. so sweet!

Awesome brisket! Best I've had in Birmingham.

Really nice guys running the place and good service. If pressed I would say it is more Texas style than Alabama, but in the end they missed the mark for any Texas native. Specifically with the sausage. I can't be 100% sure, but it tasted and looked suspiciously like Conecuh (A good sausage, no doubt, but unique to Alabama and not Texas). I'm sure this barbecue would pass for an Alabama native looking for a change from pulled pork, but if you've spent any reasonable amount of time in Texas enjoying brisket and smoked sausage, be warned this will not cure your home sickness.

I grew up eating Brisket in Texas and it was moist and smoky. A lot of it was smoked by my uncle, a native Texan. What was served at Ice House tonight was not at all like this. It was very dry. The bread shouldn't toasted, it should be white. There should be pickles. I've never had conecuh style sausage in Texas.

Ate here with my family. I had the big Texas plate with Turkey, pork, brisket and sausage. All of the smoked meats were very dry and seemed old. They were not similar to good barbecue in either Alabama or Texas. The sausage was supposed to be half a link, it was about two inches long. The macaroni and cheese noodles were over cooked with watery sauce that had very little cheese flavor. The corn on the cob was water logged and mushy. The barbecue sauces were unremarkable. Nothing I'd want to eat again. There were a lot of quality issues.

We went here thinking it was a chill bar spot, and discovered that they have wonderful food too! We tried all of the margaritas and loved them! You definitely have to try the bologna, which if you're like us you'll be suspicious of, but believe us you should give it a go! 10/10 will be back, especially for another piece of sheet cake and a bologna sandwich!

Pork Nachos!!! Definitely worth coming back for ..... I pulled up on this spot in mountain brook on a Thursday night . As a foodie, I felt like i was so behind in trying and experiencing new food places, so I picked this place to try ! I was a little hesitant at first bc the crowd appeared to all be a part of a private event so it was kinda crowded. I found a nice little end spot at the bar and the bartender quickly took my food and drink order so that's always a win win situation for me! My pork nachos took no time to come out - the pork was kinda lukewarm but the nachos still did not disappoint! I love how they mixed in won ton and reg nacho chips to build this dish . I feel like the portion was a little small for $10.50 but hey , whatever! I did still feel a little hungry after my nachos were gone I suggest ordering maybe a grill cheese on the side to make you feel fuller if you get the nachos . Nice staff , quality ingredients and great atmosphere!

Very nice little place, walked right in, excellent service, and the brisket sandwich was amazing. Brisket was very flavorful, smokey, sweet, not dry, not greasy and a great departure from most Alabama BBQ. Loved it. Hope to visit again soon.

Great brisket and service. And so far the only place in Birmingham that I have found with breakfast tacos.

I ordered food from Icehouse via Uber Eats on Saturday night for my family of 6. Our order included pulled pork sandwiches with extra meat and 3 orders of mac & cheese. Actually we were as excited about the mac & cheese as we were the BBQ because all 6 of us love good mac & cheese. This was my first time to use Uber Eats, and it worked out great. It was fast, and the food was hot on arrival. What's not to like about that? The pulled pork was very good. Tender and moist. I didn't actually use the BBQ sauce delivered with the meal, opting instead for the bottle of Sticky Fingers sauce I love and keep on hand. So I don't know about the Icehouse sauce, but the meat was good! The mac & cheese, on the other hand, was not good. I took a bite and wanted to spit it out. Something was not right. I wondered if they had used some ingredient that had gone bad. Before I could mention it to my family members, I saw that they were all hurrying to scrape it off their plates into the trash. For the record, I've had mediocre mac & cheese before, and I've always eaten it, but I've never had BAD mac & cheese before. Now I have. I can't say why it was so bad; maybe they just have a terrible recipe. Or maybe the milk was rancid. Either way, it was a big disappointment and a waste of $9.

Brisket sandwich at the recommendation of the bartender was good. The Texas Hot sauce was tasty and not overly hot. Cole slaw was excellent.

Super solid. Love the atmosphere, and the Texas style BBQ. It's refreshing from the standard Alabama pulled pork. Decent bar, and great service.

I had my first meal here today and I must say these guys understand TX BBQ. Being from TX I have eaten all the good BBQ restaurants in my home state. These guys clearly did their homework. I will have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first but that skepticism was quelled when I smelled that familiar smell of post oak and saw that beautiful smoke ring. I have traveled the state of Alabama and have been in BBQ competitions myself and I must say this is the only BBQ restaurant in the state that I have been to that understands how we do it in Texas.
