Have been eating at this location since 1991. I now eat here about once a year when in town. Not as good as I remember from back then but still delicious. I had the open face pork with onion rings. Good service too!
Descent food. The chicken wasn't hot. The pie was great, the sweet tea is not outstanding but it's better than most. Christina gave very good service.
I haven't had Johnny Ray's in about 27 years. It is still as good today as it was when I was in college. I have now turned my northern husband onto it and he loved it. Long Live Johnny Ray's!!!!!
Great barbecue pork, I love the sauce, very good sides (fried okra!) and great pies! I love the cocoanut cream pie. When I visit Birmingham, I often visit Johnny Rays!
Great BBQ and sides! I usually have food delivered via Uber Eats. Food is always plentiful and exactly what I ordered. I always get 2 meals, sometimes 3, from their meat and 3 sides. The chocolate pie is to die for! Delicious food on everything!
I love the last Johnny Ray's on the planet and eat there whenever my travels take me by. Food was outstanding as usual and their BBQ sauce is the best. My server, Christina is awesome. Very attentive and she made feel at home. Whatever you do, please don't close down my favorite BBQ house. There's none better!
Cheeseburger and onion rings were outstanding! Sweet tea was overpriced but I will still return again for the food. Nice and clean relaxed atmosphere!

The food is very good. However getting a seat at busy times can take awhile. So if you are going a peak time be prepared to wait at least 1 hr. Since the bar is still closed to get drinks you may want to bring a bottle of water during the heat of the day.
Food was excellent and service was great. Very fast and very helpful. Just a excellent place to eat
Went for lunch today food was well prepared and reasonably priced. Our waitress Jennifer was efficient and friendly even though they were understaffed. We will go back soon to try other items. Looking forward to the yummy pie I brought home.
