Came on a Saturday with my boyfriend and the place was dead, which is shocking because this place is AMAZING!! Everything from the service to the food was A1. We started with the lemon pepper wet wings, which were really good but the sauce was a little too thick for my liking. For drinks, I ordered the Seascape and my boyfriend ordered the Magnolia’s Point, both of which were delecious. For our entrees, he ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the fried oyster platter which came with 2 sides, so I got a loaded baked potato and the side salad which I made some tweaks to. Neither one of us had any complaints about our food! If you’re looking for a lowkey spot for lunch/dinner with a great atmosphere, great service, and great food/drinks, this is definitely the place! Shoutout to our amazing waitress Irina for everything!!

Cannot compliment the staff at Magnolia Point enough. On a scale of 1-5 they are a 10!!! Also the actual restaurant is great and oh… that back patio with that TV ❤️!!!
A group of us went to Magnolia Point on a beautiful sunny afternoon to watch BAMA football on the patio. We had made a reservation in advance with Irene ( name probably wrong but excellent service) The game was not on cable TV so had to be streamed. A wonderful man (Taylor?) had already researched
this and had everything setup to be able to stream the game on their
Fabulous huge TV. Katie Grace was our server. She provided us with exceptional service. The food and drinks were delicious. We ate hamburgers & crab claws & hush puppies. And their French fries ❤️❤️❤️ The French fries are VERY good. We all had a marvelous afternoon and can’t wait to go back to Magnolia Point.

I enjoyed this place for brunch. There are many choices in this buffet style restaurant. The service is excellent and it was decorated nicely for the holidays.

We went with a group of 10 and we all enjoyed the appetizers, cocktails and meal. The restaurant was nicely rehabbed. The patio is a great place to watch the games on the big screen. Will come back when I am in town.

Went here for lunch, and it was only okay. The hush puppies and fried crab claws were good. But I also ordered blackened shrimp, and it didn’t come with any dipping sauce. Plus something was off about the seasoning blend, it just finished on an unpleasant note. So I mention the sauce because that might’ve helped the flavor. I got fries as a side, and they were okay but maybe too salty. We also didn’t get any refills on our drinks, despite asking. When you’re this close to the coast with all that good, fresh seafood, you’ve really got to be on point to compete.

Keeping in the general theme of warehouse ambiance that is so popular in higher-end dining establishments in downtown Birmingham, Magnolia Point tempers the starkness with some warm elements aided by lots of natural light flowing in from the many windows on multiple sides of the building. Instead of painting the ceiling flat black and leaving the ductwork in a galvanized metal finish, MP painted their ceiling and ductwork a warm cream color matching the mortar on the original brick walls (which they either newly exposed or left exposed). There are also more wall hangings and, what appears to be, original mosaic hexagon tile floor (kinda reminds me a bit of the old Hot & Hot Fish Club). They also created a wonderful dining terrace that is shielded from both streets as it is located in the crux of the L-shaped structure. The terrace has a large screen television, plenty of plants and colorful umbrellas making it appear to be a very nice place to sit in the spring and fall months here in Birmingham.
My one complaint about Magnolia Point’s decor is the armless, unstained pine chairs - these really tone down the elegance factor a couple notches. I understand they pitch themselves as an upscale fish camp type of restaurant. I get that, but their prices aren’t fish-campy at all.
Dinner was good. I had a cup of seafood gumbo and a shrimp poboy with fries and a beer. My spouse had an entree with fried oysters and shrimp. Neither of us were blown away, but it was definitely good enough to make a return visit. I can’t go higher than 4 stars on the food, however - at least on this first visit.
Our server was friendly, competent and attentive.
