Mellow Mushroom Birmingham

Been coming here for years. Gone downhill badly. Especially the service. Had some of the worst service of our lives tonight. The new girl has a teeeeeribly entitled attitude and got so much wrong. Brought the wrong beer, brought the wrong appetizer, took 15 minutes to even take all of our drink orders much less bring the drinks. Pizza took 1hr+. Was arguing and giving attitude the whole night…Tried to charge us for the appetizer that came after 2+ hours. Just wild. I have served and worked specifically at mellow mushroom and know when things are off. This was beyond off.

Average pizza, decent atmosphere. Closer to a 3.5

Didn’t get to try the food while here although, the people I came with, their food came out looking and smelling delicious. This review is for the customer service at the establishment. First time here and attentiveness from the staff was great. Everyone was so kind and it felt very welcoming. Even with a very large group they never made it feel like we were overwhelming them. Wonderful staff.

Highly recommend this establishment.

Ate here for my cousin's birthday and had a good time. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. Can't remember her name. African American female with glasses. Really good!!

We enjoyed eating here. The food was great, the vibe was awesome and our server was amazing!

Delicious pizza

As a former employee of two Mellow Mushroom locations, one in Midtown Atlanta and the other in Downtown Bham, I expected so much more from them. I haven’t had them in so long and was excited to try it after a long time. But was disappointed beyond belief. First I was served disgusting looking beer cheese. I thought that maybe the recipe had changed but no, not at all. I made a complaint to my server who informed me that it was a bad batch and apologized for serving the “disgusting-looking” cheese. I asked was there anymore and she replied saying that she didn’t think they were making anymore that night. After a little while, she returned to say that luckily I was the second person to complain, so they did make a new batch. Lol wow ok. It took 2 people to get better quality food. I honestly felt like I was the first person and someone else complained which led to the change. But it didn’t end there. I requested light baked pizza but she did inform me that they didn’t really do that anymore so I said it’s fine. But my pizza came missing one ingredient, which led to them just adding the pepperoni on top and putting it back in the oven, making it even harder. By this point, I was feeling sick. Not sure if it was the old cheese or the pollen on the table but on the ride home, I felt completely horrible. Regretted the whole experience. I contacted corporate first to avoid making a bad review but they were no help at all. The server was able to get 25% off my pizza but bare minimum, right ?

Had a great experience at Mellow Mushroom today. The server was attentive and very sweet. He was the only employee working tables and our service was still excellent. Got a pizza I've had at least at 3 different Mellow Mushrooma and never has it tasted as fresh as it did. Overall will be back!

Long wait but the food was good and the server was polite and caring. Best pizza in the city.

I wish I could give a review on the food but unfortunately we were never served. My family and I were completely ignored once we were finally seated.

Imagine our surprise when a couple that didn’t look like us came in, were immediately greeted, seated, and immediately asked for their order.

We left because we don’t spend our money where we are not wanted. We will never come back again to this restaurant and hopefully the manager will speak with his or her staff who worked 3/2/25 around 1:30pm about the importance of doing their jobs and the importance of treating all customers the exact same! Because of them, this company lost money.

Best pizza in town, and you gotta try to cloud nine wings. 😋

Was able to get a fully vegan Thai Dye Pizza and it was probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Very fully recommend.
