I visited Metro Diner in Trussville on Mother’s Day and of course expected a wait, and that was okay. However after my husband and I were seated they took our orders fairly quickly. They then seated 2 different parties of 6 to 8 and then a local comedian came in. They all got their food before us. We asked about our order a couple of times. When we spoke with the manager she was rude and very matter of fact, and her excuse was they had a new system. This experience made us feel as if we were being overlooked because we were not in the majority. The comedian made sure everyone knew who he was so he got VIP treatment, while my husband and I sat there waiting patiently waiting for food that never came. We cancelled our food and we were asked to pay for our drinks, and in my opinion they should have been free, but we paid and left hungrier than when we arrived.

I love meatloaf. I also love shepherd's pie. What I don't love is ordering shepherd's pie and getting meatloaf with some mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables slapped on top with a little brown gravy in the mix. Lazy is what I received as my order on Thursday night, 17April2025. Not happy.

Shrimp and grits were really good. The grits were a bit loose, but the seasoning, appearance, and taste were on point. 10/10.
