You must visit this barbecue before anyone else. I am. disappointed in myself that I didn’t write this review many years ago. This is the best barbecue in fact several presidents have visited This restaurant. Food is outstanding. Please do yourself a favor just go. Portions are good food is fresh service with a smile when September, you could smell the barbecue cooking and the parking lot. Very worth it outstanding

I’ve been going here for years and always been tasty, till this past year. Prices have gone up and quality of food/service has gone WAY down! I always get a “whole chicken” and now it’s two tiny half’s with little to no meat. I don’t see them staying open much longer. I’d rather go to Publix and get 3 rotisserie chickens for the price I paid for these half’s! Good luck-from a former customer

To think, my family and I used to live 5 blocks from there. It was common for us to smell the BBQ smoke from our house and now whenever I drive through there and smell it, it takes me back. We moved to Cahaba Heights in the Summer of '87 and had the luxury of going there to pick up many meals whether it was ribs with sides every Fourth of July or their loaded potatoes every couple of weeks. Back then, it was called the Hickory Pit. I make it a point now to eat their still from time to time and, YES, the white sauce with their smoked chicken and banana pudding are worth driving from out of town for!

best bbq around! Chicken pork beef. Great sides and pies. I started coming went it was roundtrees and was a hole in the wall. Still the best. Atmosphere is old dusty ceramic pigs and vintage photos. My choice: White sauce on chicken, potato salad, beans, collards.
