The food is always perfect and the portions are more than fair. Whether you go for hibachi or just to be at a table they will take care of you very well here. This has become a semi-regular place to go and will continue to be. Thank you for the great service you render here.

By far the best Japanese steak house I have been to! Their Hibachi steak is tender and the chefs on the grill are top notch! Perfectly cooked every time. The sushi is delectably delicate and flavorful. Top tier restaurant if you are looking for a good sit down restaurant or a hibachi show.

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS ❤️😍 the manager made extra sure I got GF habatchi! They cook it in the back separate ! And I even got to enjoy the soup ! I DID NOT GET SICK . This place is the best they made extra sure that I could eat safley and have a good time ! I still got to sit with my family at the habatchi grill while they brought me mine and OH MY THE PORTION WAS HUGE !!! I got double fried rice with fillet migon and shrimp! This is my new spot ! We will be coming twice a month for date nights 😍😍 I have such a hard time trusting places and eating out and this restaurant is WORTH EVERY PENNY ❤️
Good hibachi
Filthy nasty place. Food was ok. I can’t believe the city if Trussville, and the Jefferson County health department let’s this place stay open as nasty as it is. Everyone that talks about the low light, this is hiding the dirty floors and nasty conditions.

Dining at Mizu Japanese Steak House in Trussville was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We ordered the Alabama Roll, Volcano Roll, Fried Rice with Yum Yum Sauce, and Steak Fried Rice, and every bite exceeded expectations.
The Alabama Roll was fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of textures and tastes, while the Volcano Roll delivered a delightful kick with its bold flavors and creamy topping. Both rolls showcased expert preparation and high-quality ingredients.
The Fried Rice with Yum Yum Sauce was savory and rich, with the sauce adding a deliciously creamy finish. The Steak Fried Rice was equally impressive, with tender steak pieces cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was incredibly immersive, transporting us into a vibrant and authentic dining experience. The ambiance paired perfectly with the sizzling grills and lively energy of the restaurant.
Our waitress was remarkably efficient and attentive, ensuring our drinks were always full and our needs were met without hesitation.
Overall, Mizu Japanese Steak House is a must-visit for anyone in Trussville craving outstanding Japanese cuisine paired with exceptional service and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be returning for another unforgettable meal!

Mizu Japanese Steakhouse in Trussville offers a delightful dining experience with a clean, beautiful atmosphere that immediately sets a welcoming tone. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive vibe of the restaurant.
The food stands out as the highlight of the experience. The Temptation Roll is a must-try, packed with fresh, vibrant flavors that sushi enthusiasts will appreciate. Their sushi menu overall shines with precision and quality, making it one of the stronger points of the restaurant.
Appetizers, however, are slightly hit-or-miss. The fried calamari was decent but lacked the bold flavor typically expected from this dish. While it wasn't bad, it could benefit from a more seasoned and balanced preparation.
One notable downside lies in the drinks. If you're someone who enjoys cocktails with a smooth blend of flavors, Mizu’s drinks might not hit the mark. They lean heavily on the alcohol-forward side, with minimal sweetness or complexity. The mixing seems inconsistent, with the top layer tasting predominantly of straight alcohol and only a hint of mix settling at the bottom.
In summary:
Ambiance: Clean, beautiful, and welcoming.
Service: Friendly and attentive staff.
Food: Excellent sushi, standout rolls, but appetizers could use more refinement.
Drinks: Alcohol-heavy and not well-mixed; ideal for those who prefer stronger drinks without much sweetness.
Overall, Mizu Japanese Steakhouse is well worth a visit for sushi lovers and those looking for a pleasant dining experience, but cocktail enthusiasts might find the drink menu underwhelming.

Mizu is a very fun dinner or lunch spot. The chefs are very funny and really make the meal. The food is always delicious and is prepared how you like it.
Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian menu and you can order hibachi without meats.
Dietary restrictions: Ingredients are clearly marked and you should make sure to let your server know. I personally have a shellfish allergy and my chef made sure to keep my meal separated from the scallops on the grill.
Parking: Plenty of parking but there are several businesses that share the parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: Kids usually love the dinner show but the fire can be scary
Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible, when you walk in there is a mildly steep bridge over a koi pond.

I was in town staying at a local hotel and looking for dinner. This restaurant had a 4.4 rating, so I gave it a try. Placed a to go order (so my rating is based upon the food only, not service or atmosphere) for a regular chicken hibachi and kid's chicken hibachi.....we were both disappointed. The chicken had no flavor at all and was dry, the noodles had an unpleasant after taste, and they were extremely sparing on the vegetables. The rice was actually okay, which is why I gave the food 2 stars. Needless to say, I definitely did not get my money's worth from a $40 meal since most of it went into the trash. But if the food were good, the portion size would definitely be worth the money.

I recently visited Mizu in Trussville and had a decent experience. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the service was excellent! However, I found the food a bit lacking in flavor. We ordered the salmon hibachi and the vegetable hibachi. I’ve enjoyed some fantastic hibachi around Birmingham, and the food at Mizu didn’t quite measure up to other local spots. That said, I’m open to returning for another visit and giving it another try to see if my impression changes.
Vegetarian options: Try the vegetable hibachi
