The lady over the place is extremely pleasant but the food today was horrible. To scoop up some undone clunky rice and place it on a plate and drizzle gravy over it like it was going to help was insane. I honestly feel like I wasted over $30 dollars for some food that wasn’t enjoyed and I tipped so it was close to $40 total that’s just gone.

Cold morning, and the fridge was low, so decided to order breakfast via Doordash. Spotted this and specifically decided to try it because of the salmon croquettes, something that reminds me of my Mom. I must say it was tasty, of course, not as good as Mom's, though. Enjoyed the meal!

Very unique dining experience. We arrived and were greeted by a very sweet 18 month year old girl who is the 5th generation of restaurant owners. We were offered a free play on the juke box and had two bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on toast. I must admit, the pig ear and liver sandwiches were enticing and uniquely southern. Wonderful experience.

I came here as part of a school group traveling to D.C from Houston a couple of weeks ago and the pork chop rice with gravy was amazing. We all had a budget to stay under, and the food was so affordable and tasty. We all had a lot of fun playing around with the jukebox too! I would to Alabama again just to eat here!

It's the at-home vibes for me. Looking at the kids training to be future entrepreneurs. The food is down home the salmon had that soft crunch and the pancakes were buttered to perfection

I'm at work and I'm hangry at 10am. I don't need, nor want to pay for fancy food. This place is PERFECT. I use a delivery service, and have never been there in person but I imagine somebody's grandmother or aunt in the kitchen making my food. This is like food that comes out of a regular kitchen--basic and good. It is priced right and they serve breakfast all day. You want pancakes, a BLT, and a burger? Yes. You want grits and a pig ear sandwich with a side of fries? Liver and onions with gravy and a side of bacon and some tea? Yes baby, you can have that too!

So I used to frequent this restaurant while Mr. Nelson was alive. The place was always packed and lively. It was a spot where people would come to socialize as they listened to the jukebox. Well the menu has less items now and the atmosphere is not quite the same but the family is still there and there is a new fancy jukebox. I will always support when I am Downtown. Now to the nitty gritty you can get breakfast sandwiches, pork chops and rice and other familiar foods. Now, I go for pig ear sandwiches this is the only place that I can still get one if I have the craving.
