I visited Newks Eatery in Birmingham, AL, for the very first time yesterday, and I’m already planning my next trip! The experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Let’s start with the food. I ordered the Avocado Turkey sandwich, and it was delicious. The combination was fresh and satisfying. I’ll note that the breading on the turkey was a little thick for my personal taste, but it was still very good and didn’t ruin the sandwich at all. For dessert, I had a slice of cake, which was clearly fresh and well-prepared—a perfect sweet ending.

The service was fast and friendly, making the lunch break efficient and pleasant. The store was clean and well-lit, contributing to a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

My only critique would be the price. At $14.00, the meal felt a bit more than acceptable for what you get, leaning toward the higher side for a casual lunch.

Overall, my first visit to Newks Eatery was a success. The good food, clean environment, and speedy service outweighed the slightly high price. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

The absolute best fresh salads! Love the ranch and blue cheese dressings! The staff were so attentive today, going way above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, anticipating our needs, and serving with warmth and friendliness! Our visit was a breath of fresh air today!

Such a great restaurant. I went to the downtown Birmingham. I put my lunch order (12 noon) in at around 7:30 this morning and it was hot and ready when I arrived. There was a line so not having to wait was a plus. Walk right over and pick my order up from the online area. My food was still hot and delicious as always. Thanks Newk’s for saving us health care workers time during our lunch hour.

I used to like this place. After a long gap, I recently went back. I picked up some pizzas for a meeting. They were not just thin crust, but paper thin, with very little topping - the boxes were so light I had to check that they were not empty. And even though I picked them up about 20 minutes after ordering, they were stone cold. Not like I remember. Very disappointed.

In restaurant Monday, December 08, 2025, 1pm the 2 cashier were very inpatient, lack any customer service empathy.. when asking questions they had no interest in assisting the customer. These 2 cashier should not be upfront handling customers if they have no interest in providing customer service, which they obviously don’t want to. Their whole demeanor was I wish you would go away and not bother me..
