We arrived about 8:40 and they close at 9:30. They were already dead and I thought they might have been closed actually. I picked this location because of the reviews, pictures, and menu. But, when we got there there were no hibachi grills and we almost left because of it. We did decide to stay and eat. We ordered two hibachi chicken meals with no vegetables and double rice and got a side order of hibachi noodles to split. The soup and salad came out first and the soup was very good but fairly different than most hibachi places, it tasted more beef based and had a little tang almost like spicy. The salad dressing was awful. When our food came out I instantly noticed the portions were smaller than most actual hibachi restaurants. The chicken was decent but didn’t have the texture of chicken when cooked on the hibachi grills and didn’t have nearly enough teriyaki on it. The rice was ok but had a weird smoky flavor. The noodles were actually really good. Service was kind of awful but I figure it’s because it was so late and it seems as though they get mostly to go orders later in the evening so they didn’t really wanna deal with a dine in customer ??♀️ it wasn’t the worst hibachi place I’ve been to but it was no where near the best. I probably wouldn’t come back unless we just absolutely can not find a real hibachi place around this side of town that tastes good too.

Just moved to Alabama and I work by this restaurant food is delicious with great flavor !!! I ate here 4x already! I usually come here for lunch break and pay 12$ for Hibachi Lunch shrimp & lomein with a clear soup. I recommend trying this place! Also the sushi was amazing !!!!!
NEVER get a refill! I go back because the food is great but everytime I go I never have gotten a refill.

I can’t believe this place only has 4.5 stars and the dumpster fire next door has 4.6. In my mind, there’s good sushi, there’s bad sushi, and there’s fancy sushi (good sushi that is overpriced). Other than fancy sushi, the difference mostly has to do with the quality of the ingredients used to prepare the sushi, and they ways in which those ingredients are handled. Okinawa has good sushi. The dumpster fire next door has bad. Secondly, the service at Okinawa is always excellent. There are always warm welcomes, attentive servers, and thoughtful gestures from the staff. The atmosphere is very relaxed and fun, while not being lazy or obnoxious. Okinawa is my go-to. I’ve eaten here regularly for years. I’ve also tried most of the other sushi restaurants in town. Some are good. Some are bad. Some are fancy. But Okinawa is consistently good.

The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. The servers were attentive and kind , and very helpful with my food allergies. The restaurant prepared my food with gluten free soy sauce and even made me gluten free hibachi!
