When I saw this place was reopening, I actually screamed.Food is amazing, portions are big, and prices are great. They seriously have top tier teryaki chicken + shrimp, best yum yum sauce I've had in Birmingham, and amazing lo mein. I haven't had anything that isn't amazing. 10/10. Can't wait to have my bi-weekly Ooka takeout nights back!

Delicious food at fair prices with amiable staff. They get pretty busy during meal times, but they do well with it and they always pick up the phone.

they are closed because of a fire they have a hand written sign on the door and there isn't a date of closure or an estimated date of reopening maybe Ill check again one day to see if they ever reopen

Closed. Hours say they are open. But they are not. There's a sign on the door but it's illegible.

This place rock! If you haven't tried it, its a MUST go! Best Chinese/Japanese food around - certainly in our area by far. Service is great - owners nice, presentation incredible... can't say enough good things about it!

I think Ooka was one of the few places open for New Years Day... they were the only 1 that picked up the phone when I called. - Parking is great. Huge lot. - Good amount of indoor seating. (I was maybe one of 3 tables dining). - Food was good. A little expensive, but from what I've read online, Ooka has better quality food compared to other places. I had miso soup & 2 spicy tuna rolls. I was hangry AF, so this tied me over well for a few hours. - My server was really nice & very attentive. I did see her interact with other tables, and I could tell she was well liked with her usual customers. I won't mind coming back when I'm back in town.

Lunch Sushi in Hoover is a thing! The lunch menu is affordable and the sushi is flavorful. We had 2 rolls each and a couple pieces of yellow tail nigiri. Service was great and so was the atmosphere.

Food was very good and prices were reasonable. Vegetables in Pepper Steak were fresh and crisp tender, steak was tender and brown gravy tasty. Egg Rolls were good and enjoyed the egg drop soup.

My friends and I celebrated my birthday there this past weekend and we had a wonderful time! The ambience is cool. The food was really delicious and fairly priced. The service was friendly and accommodating. I will recommend this place to other friends and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Great sushi lunch specials. The sushi was fresh and the onion soup was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

We often go for lunch, which is delicious and inexpensive. The lunch special comes with soup and an entree. My husband always gets an egg roll a la carte to go along with it. I usually take some of my entree home with me which makes a good supper. The setting isn't impressive, but the service is prompt and efficient, and as I mentioned earlier, the food is very good. Since Covid, we've been looking for a good Chinese place, and this is our go-to for Chinese/Japanese cuisine.
