This place is loaded with local goods and all sorts of gifts and things of that nature. If you're looking for Alabama things, you'll find them here. Lots of floor space, wide variety of goods, friendly service, and a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Love them for that. There's also a sandwich station in the back, so I ordered a sandwich. It was just ok. The bread was a little over the top and kind of took over the sandwich, and it's not the best bread. The sandwiches are priced a little steep and served a little plain. Just a cold sandwich on unremarkable bread. It wouldn't take much for the sandwich to be a lot better. Overall a good spot. Great if you're shopping for gifts etc, okay if you need a sandwich.

This is a super cool store. I visited the other night for their free fly tying classes. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, I think you’ll love the store. There’s also a deli in the back with great sandwiches.

Delicious sandwiches and good looking clothes. Nice people as well. My favorite sandwich is the Ore, the balsamic onions are delicious. Good price for a 6”, which was plenty, especially with the cannoli and pickle. Usually take half home after meal.

Nice little hole in the wall. Great environment and love the Boar’s Head products!

I had never been in here before until yesterday and it was so cute! Kind of an outdoorsy gear and clothing shop with a small deli and grocery section in the back. They had stationary, socks, fishing lures, and even fishing rods. Unfortunately, a lot of the clothing was quite pricey, but I would go back to see what they have in the future or maybe for gifts.

The best deli!

One of my favorite "go to" lunch spots. Good people and great deli sandwiches. Where else can you get a nice meal and the latest Howler snap button shirt. A+

Blonde guy working the front is SUPER friendly even 30 minutes til closing. Didn't browse much because the majority of the store is not my style, but they seem to have a nice, large collection of cool vintage clothes in the back. Ordered 2 sandwiches which were made & ready very quickly, BUT I watched the guy making them pick up a piece of trash from the floor with gloves on & then IMMEDIATELY touch the sandwiches with the same gloves. You may as well have rubbed the sandwich on the floor. What would the health inspector say? Sandwiches were mostly bread & pasta salad was disappointing. Not worth the time or money.

For starters, I learned about this place due to a friend who received a text from the store for a wine tasting. Honestly I had never heard about this place and glad I stopped by. Feels like a sundry with food. Can't really place what it sells, however all I remember was the soap, tshirts and CDB. Overall the ambiance was nice, and the staff super friendly. Will certainly be back, maybe to try the food this time.

After ordering my sandwich I browsed the store and ended up finding a last minute holiday gift. My smoked turkey sandwich was delicious.

Love to support my locals. Vintage clothes in the back. Variety of gifts. Drink a beer and have a sandwich while you're at it.

Have you ever been in the same situation as me? You walk into a store and expect it to be one specific type of store, but then it turns into something else entirely. Ore Mercantile is one of those stores that will shock the hell out of you. When you first walk, it matches the same outlook and vibes as Mountain Top Outfitters. With clothing brands (most of which I hadn't heard about before). But wait there is more. Toward the back of the shop there is an amazing bodega and deli. The menu is a decent size. But they also do have a quite large display case with tons of Boar's Head meats inside too. So if you do not see a sandwich on the menu that appeases your fancy, you are more than welcome to create one of your very own. What did strike my fancy while inside was the fridges and coolers inside the bodega. They had signs up that said you have the freedom to create your own six pack. There were tons of different local beers in the fridge. It was defiantly a sight to be seen. Unfortunately I was not able to try a sandwich from them, as I had just come from the BBQ competition at Cahaba Brewing. But I do plan on coming back to Ore Mercantile soon to try one of their sandwiches. This store definitely shocked me, but in a good way. The people here are nice and friendly. The clothing and other items sold in the store and good quality and something you would not see in your every day kind of store. A lot of the items are from small businesses (some local) some not. I will be back for sure!

An eclectic mix of wares encourages you to walk around clockwise as well as counterclockwise to be certain you didn’t miss anything. The deli offers up delicious sandwiches as well as cannoli, so it’s a must. There’s also a varied selection of items in the bodega area. Hell, it’s worth stopping by just to see the cool Clint Eastwood art.
