This was my husband and my first time in Alabama and we had breakfast @ Original Pancake House. Oh my, what a treasure found. The service was very professional and attentive, the restaurant clean and decorative of an old style restaurant, BUT the food ohhhh my greatness. Yes, đ delicious. I had biscuits w/gravy ohhh wee-buttery soft biscuits/ yummy gravy, bacon(4perfevtly fried pieces) eggs over med and cooked as such đand potatoes- also delicious and flavorful. If ever in the area, this should be where you have breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Oh the coffee, yes ma'am and sir, was on point. Try it, you'll thank me later. đ

I enjoyed breakfast at the original pancake house. The prices werenât bad service was a little weird. Didnât realize it would take 40 minutes to get a Dutch baby or the Apple pancake I made a note of that for the future so I can plan ahead because I really want to try it. It looks really good. I saw a couple of them come out. We went later in the morning, so it wasnât very busy and it was also a weekday.
I would recommend checking it out I had a delightful breakfast at the original pancake house. The prices were reasonable, but the service was a bit peculiar. I didnât realize it would take 40 minutes to get a Dutch baby or the Apple pancake. I made a note of that for the future so I can plan ahead, as Iâm eager to try it. The pancakes looked incredibly delicious, and I saw a couple of them being served. Since we went later in the morning, it wasnât too crowded, and it was also a weekday.
I highly recommend checking it out!

Amazing lunch! The bacon was terrific and Bri (hostess) was exceptional! 15 minutes wait, and food came 5 minutes after we sat down.

We went early in the morning of December 27th. Service was decently fast. Our server was attentive and got our orders right without needing to jot them down.
The portions were pretty big and filling, although I found the omelette a bit too salty. Sadly, both my 9 month old and I got sick after breakfast. My husband and our toddler were ok.
The place was clean but music was disturbingly loud. Itâs a breakfast/pancake place, not a pub. Also, the AC was cranked up and it was colder inside than outside the place. We had to keep our jackets on.
It was an ok choice but we donât plan on going back.

Tested the theory of infinite patience today. Turns out, the heat death of the universe will likely happen before anyone at this location picks up a phone. Pancakes are great, but their telecommunications department is currently ghosting the entire planet.
No wait time for a table which was nice (hostess was nice), although it had syrup all over it. Waited 10 minutes to see my waitress to make an order (place was about half full). Got the veg omelette (not vegetarian) because it looked good, and some cheese grits. Took a while for the food, but thatâs alright. Food came out, I ate the pancakes first, they were great. Then my omelette and grits, they were both so bland, I drowned them in S/P and hot sauce. Grits were also cold when they got the table. Maybe I shouldâve just ordered pancakes from the pancake restaurant.

If you haven't been to an Original Pancake House, you're in for a treat! It's pretty rare to find a Dutch Baby Pancake (an American breakfast creation, inspired by German, not Dutch puffed pancakes). They take a little longer but are totally worth the wait. Yum!
