They really do need more help. To wait for 30 minutes to get a seat and another 30 minutes to get food is pretty long. Otherwise they are very friendly and they are trying their best to put out the food as soon as they can. Eggs and bacon was great but the grits were watery and kind of off putting with the purple color.
Went here for breakfast and enjoyed it very much. We had the Pepe Le French Toast and the Biscuits n' Gravy. The French Toast was great with sausage and bacon. There wasn't too much cream cheese between the French Toast but enough so that syrup really isn't needed. The biscuits n' gravy were good but the gravy was somewhat bland. Also, I prefer having sausage bits in my sausage gravy but there was none in this particular type. For some this may be good but for me, it left me a little wanting. Still this was a good atmosphere and good food.
I had my food delivered while I was at work. As I was almost done I found the red pepper still had the sticker on it as pictured below. Everything else was good, but I was through when I saw that.
Great breakfast! If you don't get there early it appeared to get crowded quick. Think they were short-staffed the day we were there, but we really didn't wait long for our food and never felt neglected by our waitress, they were hustling! We'd definitely recommend and if we're ever back in Birmingham we'll eat here again.
I did not know that oatmeal pancakes are a thing. Now I know, and I know that they are good. I can tell my cardiologist that I'm eating oatmeal. I won't tell him that I'm having syrup with it.
My fiancé and I stopped here on our way down to Montgomery and had a wonderful breakfast experience. I had a grits bowl that was hearty and warm, and the biscuits also were flakey and delicious. Quaint and cute, real charming little place !
Great Breakfast…Hash Basket was amazing and those blue grits are worth coming back for, again and again!!
Very good breakfast spot in Birmingham. Hash baskets are a full meal. Clean friendly place.
Cute little breakfast eatery, looks newly renovated. I had the egg basket with goat cheese & bacon, it was yummy. I did ask for CRISPY bacon and got bacon that wasn't crisp at all. Also, our server wasn't the nicest but she at least keep our coffee warm.
They tend to fix over medium fried eggs that are scorched and at same time uncooked white portion. When they replace the eggs, they are still scorched and yoke hard. I chose not to eat and told server not her fault, I still got charged for the order. No big deal. They need the $$ more than me. I will not return.

Great little breakfast nook for the start of a good weekend. Nothing too fancy just good stick to ribs chow. You will leave full and happy.
Was looking forward to a good breakfast and was so disappointed. Awful was the only way to describe it. Eggs Benedict were hard boiled and English Muffins not toasted. Hash browns like rubber. Wife's grits like soup. Won't go back. May be due to staffing issues. Regardless, it was not good.
THE breakfast spot In birmingham. The Over East Omelette is my personal favorite. Goat cheese, mushrooms and housemade pesto - yum! Great power breakfast spot or also good for groups.
Reasonable wait (10 minutes max) arriving around 11:45. Food was delicious! I had Pepe le toast and my daughter had the trio. Awesome bacon, and I had never had an oatmeal pancake before, but I tried one of my daughter’s and I liked it better than the buttermilk pancake. French toast is delicious- loved it with the fruit on it!
It took over 45 minutes to be served and when we finally were it was just a person shouting “who has been out here the longest”. The most extremely unprofessional demeanor that I have ever encountered in my entire life down to being asked to retrieve my own menu and silverware. I used to love this place but safe to say I will not be returning. Such a shame since I was bringing family from out of town and it was a bad experience.
